We convened a Project Steering Committee to empower women and Youth to drive the Sustainable Agriculture (EWYSA) Project. Funded by the IBSA Fund 🇮🇳 🇧🇷 🇿🇦 through @UNOSSC, the project supports vegetable farmers with irrigation Infrastructure, agricultural inputs, capacity building, access to finance & markets.
The farmers also had an exhibition where they sold their produce, showcasing how the project is providing market linkages & economically empowering the farmers!

Today, the India-UN Fund project "Mobilisation and Valuation of Surface Water in the Village of Niang Do" that helps preserve water body of 583,000 cubic metres, create conditions for reliable water availability and improving rural livelihoods, was officially handed over.
The project is dedicated to the friendly people of Burkina Faso.

The Niangdo Dam was inaugurated on 27 Oct by Ambassador Om Prakash Meena, alongside Burkina Faso’s Ministers Delegate Dr. Amadou Dicko and Mrs. Bebgnasgnan Stella Eldine Kabré/Kaboré, and UNDP Resident Representative Mr. Snehal Soneji. India contributed US$1 million through the India-UN Development Partnership Fund. Benefiting 50,000+ people across 10 villages, the dam strengthens water and food security.
In a video message @AmbHarishP, Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, reaffirmed India's commitment to development partnerships across the Global South, guided by the Indian ethos of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” - The World Is One Family.
The Niangdo Dam stands as a symbol of India-Burkina Faso friendship, South-South cooperation and a shared commitment to sustainable development and climate resilience.

Today, Ms. Dima Al-Khatib, Director of the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (#UNOSSC), updated the #AfricanGroupUN on the 23rd Session of the High-Level Committee on South-South Cooperation. This committee, part of the @UN General Assembly, meets every two years to assess South-South and triangular cooperation. She highlighted key milestones for the June 2027 session, discussed how Member States can engage, and requested feedback on themes for reviewing the Buenos Aires outcome document. Two main themes proposed are:
1️⃣ From Commitment to Impact: Scalling South-South and Triangular Cooperation for Sustainable Development.
2️⃣ A New Era of Collaborative Resilience: Repositioning South-South Cooperation to Bridge the Global Devide.
Member states were encouraged to participate in preparatory meetings.

As the dialogue concluded in New York, one message stood out: South-South & Triangular Cooperation must move beyond individual initiatives and become part of how African countries plan, finance and implement development.
From stronger national frameworks to youth-led innovation, African countries can deepen cooperation by sharing solutions, expertise and experience.
As 2030 approaches, stronger African ownership and partnerships will be critical to accelerating the #SDGs and #Agenda2063.
