18 years between the start and the end. Quite a run for arguably the best RPG series of all time.
Ultima I was released in 1981, while the last installment (so far), Ultima IX, came out in 1999.
Do you remember your first step into Britannia? Which game and system was it?

A bit more work on my recreation of the 1995-97 Ultima IX prototype. I’ve moved the assets into Godot and now have the player walking and running with keyboard and mouse controls, plus camera rotation around the vertical axis.

4 more hours of work got us a crude PvP system for my browser-based Ultima 7 Online. Little buggy and needs better visual feedback, but you can see it starting to take shape. It can support 2000+ concurrent clients (although probably not all standing in one place). Quests, dungeon instances, leveling, groups, and character vanity all on the way. One thing I did scrap: 8-direction facing turned out to be wildly complex, so we're sticking with the original 4-direction for now.

I was looking at some of the @UltimaForever news on the @UltimaCodex and saw a relic of my past (when I was not a very good programmer). Times have changed and the web is such an enabling cross platform tool these days that I ported the Gargish translator from a java desktop application to a subpage for Ultima VI Online's main website.

This is not a drill. This is a conversation running from the original Ultima VII usecode that has been converted to Lua for use with Ultima VII Revisited.
Notice that the state is preserved - Erethian says something different the second time.

After last night's stream, here's the latest mockup for the conversation system. I think it looks pretty good!
And yes, there will be font options, as well as text color options.
