Mr. Fitzell, Ethiopia remains one of the world's poorest and most fragile countries, devastated by years of large-scale warfare, mass displacement, hunger, and the destruction of essential infrastructure. Millions struggle with inadequate access to clean water, electricity, healthcare, and education. Doctors and teachers struggle to feed their own families, while hospitals and schools face desperate shortages. Against this backdrop, reports of the acquisition of 12 Russian Su-35 fighter jets and plans for four S-400 air defence systems are simply astonishing. Meanwhile, the government promotes glittering corridors resembling Dubai, projects that appear to serve a privileged political elite while much of Ethiopia's population, approaching 130 million, struggles with poverty.
The multibillion-dollar #Chaka Palace project raises equally serious questions about national priorities, public expenditure, and accountability. Ireland, Denmark, the United States, the United Kingdom, and other development partners have supported Ethiopia's people for decades. Their taxpayers deserve transparency about how international assistance interacts with a government budget that also finances sophisticated weaponry and prestige projects. Humanitarian assistance must continue reaching vulnerable civilians, but military procurement and extravagant public spending deserve rigorous scrutiny. The contrast between these priorities and the suffering of ordinary Ethiopians is morally staggering.

At least 60 Orthodox Christians have been killed in two attacks in Ethiopia’s Oromia region, the Ethiopian Orthodox Church has said.
More than 20 people were seriously injured and about 20 homes were burned. The church has urged the government to protect civilians and prosecute those responsible.
Who carried out the attacks is still disputed, against a backdrop of ongoing insecurity in the area.
The whole world lies under the sway of the evil one.
The Ethiopian child, who may not speak very well yet and still leans on his mother’s arm when he walks, was killed in cold blood because he was wearing a cross around his neck...
And because his family is Ethiopian Orthodox.
Dozens have been killed this week in the Oromia Region, and no one intervenes to stop the massacres, no one shows sympathy, and no one speaks out.
Criminal militias and a complicit government.
And innocent victims...
But the image of this child will continue to rebuke the consciences that have fallen asleep and condemn the mouths that remained silent.
God is present.
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.

We stand in solidarity with our Ethiopian Orthodox brothers.

TO ALABAMA AUTHORITIES, U.S. FEDERAL AUTHORITIES, AND THE AMERICAN CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY
I respectfully call your urgent attention to the deeply disturbing public conduct of Mr. #Habtamu_Challa_Gurmu (@Habtishgreat), an Ethiopian immigrant reportedly residing in Alabama, whose latest social media activity I regard as a cruel mockery of the suffering of Ethiopian Orthodox Christians and Amhara civilians following the reported massacres in #Arsi, #Ethiopia . At a time when families are mourning innocent victims, this individual continues to target and harass diaspora members who are expressing grief and demanding justice. The accompanying videos reportedly document mass burials, collective mourning, and the forced renunciation of Christianity, including the removal and cutting of religious necklaces worn by Ethiopian Orthodox Christians. These disturbing accounts raise grave concerns about religious persecution, violent Islamic extremism, and the potential civilizational erasure of one of the world's oldest Christian communities. Rather than showing compassion for the victims, Mr. Challa continues to direct hostile commentary toward individuals discussing these atrocities, including identifiable members of the Ethiopian Orthodox and Amhara diaspora. His latest post, reproduced in the attached screenshot, names diaspora members while commenting on the controversy surrounding these killings. Although the screenshot does not independently establish that he celebrates the massacres or forced conversions, his repeated targeting of grieving individuals warrants serious scrutiny.
His history on X also raises concerns about repeated conduct following account suspensions. His principal account, @Habtishgreat, was reportedly suspended for several weeks before recently becoming active again. Other previously reported suspended handles include @HabtishGurmu (also written @habtishgurmu) and @gurmuchalla. He has also reportedly participated in X Spaces through @MusicdonebyAi (Ethio-Music). I respectfully request that X Safety examine whether these accounts are associated and whether their activity constitutes repeated violations of its harassment and privacy policies. I am particularly concerned by his reported pattern of harassment, previous claims concerning access to Americans' Social Security numbers and other sensitive personal information, and his alleged employment in services involving vulnerable individuals in Alabama. I respectfully ask Alabama authorities, federal law enforcement agencies, Christian organizations, and X Safety to examine the documented statements, investigate any credible threats or unlawful conduct, and determine whether his activities present a danger to targeted individuals or their families. How can any society committed to religious liberty remain indifferent when people mourning the deaths of fellow Christians report being subjected to intimidation and harassment? Religious freedom, human dignity, and the protection of innocent civilians must never be negotiable. The persecution of Ethiopian Orthodox Christians must end, and those who threaten or intimidate grieving communities must be held accountable under the law.

The continued targeted attacks against Christians in Ethiopia are completely unacceptable.
All parties to the conflict need to take steps to ensure that Christians and all people of faith are protected from this violence and that the perpetrators are punished.

🧵The sad thing about this article is that some are so hungry for even a tiny SHRED of info to come out about these massacres that they'll tolerate Paravicini's casual BS laced thru the story. Let's take a quick closer look.

A STATEMENT THAT MUST NOT BE FORGOTTEN
When similar killings occurred in the past, @AbiyAhmedAli was quoted as saying: “Let them be killed, we will plant trees on the corpse to give it a shade.” This quotation requires independent verification, but its attribution deserves scrutiny.

Nine Christians were killed in Jordan and at least 60 more in Ethiopia over the past week. The two separate massacres in the Middle East and Africa underscore the dangers Christians worldwide face because of their faith.
In Jordan, gunmen opened fire on Christian mourners inside a church, killing nine people and wounding around 40 others.
In Ethiopia, attackers went from house to house, killing 60 Christians with guns and knives, destroying their homes.
The attacks come as Christians in the United States and around the world prepare to gather this Sunday for the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, to pray for believers facing persecution because of their faith.

I write this message today not merely with words, but with the heavy, unendurable weight of grief, mourning, and a desperate plea for recognition. Behind the statistics are human faces mothers, fathers, children, and believers whose only crime was their identity and their faith.
The image of mass graves holding innocent Orthodox Christians predominantly #Amharas slaughtered and buried together is a chilling testament to a profound tragedy unfolding in plain sight.
This is not a distant relic of history; it is a living, breathing nightmare occurring daily.
The Ongoing Crisis: More than sixty #Christians have been brutally murdered in Arsi. In Wellega, the blood of #Amharas continues to be shed on a daily basis.
The Cry for Accountability:
Communities are targeted systematically, their lives cut short while the cries for justice echo into a vacuum of international indifference.
My Urgent Questions to the Global Community
I ask international bodies and global leaders to answer these haunting questions:
- How many #Amhara people must be killed before the world responds with the urgency, gravity, and seriousness this atrocity demands?
- How many Orthodox Christians must perish before international mechanisms are triggered to demand true accountability from the authorities in power?
- How much innocent blood must soak the soil before global organizations look past political convenience and confront the grim reality on the ground?
A Call to Action
Human rights know no borders, and the right to life is universal. I as a human being implore international bodies, human rights monitors, and influential governments to rise above silence:
Acknowledge the Reality: Recognize the severity of the violence and the systematic targeting of vulnerable communities.
Demand Accountability:
Hold responsible authorities answerable for every single life lost and every drop of blood spilled.
Protect the Vulnerable:
Deploy independent investigations and offer immediate protection to populations living under the constant shadow of violence.
The earth has swallowed too many innocent souls. The time to act with moral clarity, courage, and compassion is long overdue.
