Charlie Kirk’s message was always clear: “When people stop talking is when really bad stuff starts to happen.”
Too many people will say they sided with Charlie then follow with responses to outside dissenting opinions of shut up, you’re dumb, or some other four letter word tirade.
Opinions matter, discourse matters, that’s the beauty of America.

This is tragic.
Harmeet has been a champion for the civil rights of young white Christian men. No one has done more than her to crush the DEI regime that targeted them.
And this is how she is repaid by the very people she fought for.
These young fools—ignorant, arrogant Nick Fuentes acolytes—are trying to make the Right a “Christians only” party while simultaneously making Christianity look as repulsive as possible. It’s electoral suicide.

Counterpoint: if you could give every child in your town’s schools breakfast and lunch every day, but it required firing two district administrators, would you do it?

I used to be a language lawyer. In the late 80s I _studied_ the ARM (Annotated Reference Manual for C++). I knew the language cold, inside and out. I could make it do backflips. I shipped a lot of code using it. A LOT.
I’ve attacked other languages with a similar intensity and depth. Until recently, that was simply the only way to become adept at building software systems.
I now consider the deep understanding of a language to be a supreme waste of time and effort. I don’t want to learn Rust, or Golang, or Typescript, or any of the thousands of other languages out there. I’ll leave that to my agents.
What I need now is to understand the high level gestalt of the system. I want to see the systems and subsystems. I don’t need to inspect the cogs. If I truly need to understand a detail at the cog level, I’ll interrogate my agents. I’m not going to pretend to be a language expert anymore.
I'm sad Justin is getting skewered by so many angry folks.
I don't know him personally, but what I take away from his post is an almost existential, angsty question: when does it become ok to kill someone?
I am ready to defend my family and my immediate neighbors. With utter violence if needed.
I also think it's critical that we as humans regularly make ourselves evaluate how far we are willing to go.
Because humans matter, and God has given us amazing gifts.
Also: Don't fuck with my family or neighbors.

It’s time to wake up and stop being a loser.
Get out of bed early. Lift heavy weights. Go for a run. Clean your apartment. Get a haircut. Dress like you actually go outside. Eat Whole Foods. Stop watching tik tok. Call your parents. Actually start pursuing your passions. Get a 2nd job if needed.
Stop chasing people who don’t want you. Stop comparing yourself to guys on Instagram or Terra Chad’s. Stop blaming your height, genetics, the economy, or your childhood for everything.
Figure out what you want out of life and go after it like a man possessed!!
Be someone people can depend on. Keep your word. Show up on time. Be a good friend. Treat people well. Don’t be afraid to look stupid trying something new.
It’s cool to care. It’s cool to work hard. It’s cool to want more for yourself.
You’re going to fail. You’re going to get rejected. You’re going to have days where you feel like the biggest loser on earth.
Who cares? Get up tomorrow and try again.
Some guy with half your advantages is out there making it happen because he refuses to quit.
Life is ridiculously short. You can spend it complaining about the cards you were dealt or actually play the hand.
Nobody is coming to save you.
Become the guy you would’ve looked up to at 15.

If you’re right wing and you can’t admit liberals (not communists) are way better at art and design and boutique coffee shops and restaurants, you’re not living in reality.
If you’re left wing and you can’t admit conservatives are way better at running cities and businesses and police departments, you’re not living in reality.
You step inside a beautiful coffee shop in the PNW and think “man, these liberals are great at this stuff…conservatives should take notes.” Then the moment you step outside and trip over a homeless drug zombie shooting up fentanyl on the sidewalk, you think “man these liberals are terrible at this stuff…they should really take notes from conservatives”
Communists make disgusting anti-beauty art, but classical liberals aren’t like that. Put the libs in charge of the coffee shops, put the conservatives in charge of city hall. This is how you get a city that is beautiful, clean, and functional.
If you can’t accept that, you need to check your tribalism. We are never getting rid of each other, so figure out how we strike a balance or else the communists swoop in and take everything from us while we quarrel over stupid bullshit…which is exactly what’s happening now.
I was a pampered peacetime enlisted flier. I don't have some of the incredible stories that more recent vets have.
Off the top of my cuff, my best day was winning the base volleyball championship at Elmendorf somewhere around 1990. I was a player-coach of a group of mediocre athletes from my squadron. We beat another unit that had stretched the rules to pick up several players from other units. The opposing team was all great individual athletes, but our team played out of our asses AS A TEAM.
Absolutely my proudest moment as a coach or leader in any job I had, and I learned an amazing amount about leadership and more importantly teamwork.
I used that as lessons in leadership workshops at conferences, articles I wrote, and I think I even mentioned it in my book The Leadership Journey.
The crappy beer at the local dive bar tasted particularly good afterwards, too.
