A fantastic few weeks in South Africa immersing in data-driven discussions and policy trade-offs led by @DBE_SA. It was a treat to listen and learn from the latest & greatest evidence in South Africa and to present evidence from the @WWHGlobalEd and @youthimpactorg on A/B testing and evaluation at scale.
📊📈 For many countries, the latest #PISA results offer a sobering picture of global learning, with outcomes stagnating or declining. Yet within this broader picture, there are notable signs of progress.
The #Philippines, #Cambodia & #Zambia stand out.

🎓🇧🇼 Putting education in the spotlight
During the official visit of the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester to Botswana, our Academic Director @angrist_noam was pleased to see education feature among the programme’s highlights, including a visit to Phillip Moshotlhe Primary School.
“It’s encouraging to see education given this kind of prominence. Botswana is also an important example of evidence-based education reform in action, with Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) being implemented at scale to help children build foundational skills.” @angrist_noam
