Parliament have voted against the shambolic Assisted Dying Bill.
Yes: 270
No: 286
Wonderful news. Vulnerable and disabled people donβt deserve to be thrown under the bus.

Terminally ill Labour MP Ashley Dalton is on her feet in the commons now opposing the state assisted suicide bill and it's one of the most powerful speeches made in the chamber for a very long time. A fundamentally decent woman with clear and proper concern for the vulnerable.

To my American friends! Thinking of you today as you mark 25 years since 9/11. Honoring the memory of those lost by reflecting on unity, kindness, and resilience on this National Day of Service and Remembrance.

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has warned the Scottish Government that its proposed Human Rights Bill for Scotland risks undermining the UK Supreme Courtβs ruling on the definition of sex in the Equality Act 2010 (the For Women Scotland judgment).
Public bodies might again be pushed to prioritise how someone identifies over biological reality, potentially weakening womenβs rights to single-sex spaces, sports, and services. The EHRC is saying: donβt try to sneak around the Supreme Court judgment.
The EHRC (Britainβs independent equality regulator) has issued a formal warning/intervention to the Scottish Government about the Billβs proposals. This centres on the planned βEquality Duty.β

In memory of my little Jessie girl. 2018-2026.
Following my post announcing the passing of little Jessie a couple of weeks ago, after way too long without a good internet connection I'm now picking up a strong enough signal to upload a photo of her.
She was the undoubted queen of the living room couch. I rarely had to wonder where she was or look for her as there was simply one place she loved the most. Her comfort zone, up on the back of the couch.
In all the 8 years she spent with me she truly proved herself to be the most beautiful, calm, loving little soul a bunny could possibly be and is deeply missed by us all.
I'll see you again, little sweetheart. Nothing will keep us apart forever.
Also, it's with a broken heart I also have to announce I've lost little Jet boy as well, he's gone over the rainbow, too.
Hopefully tomorrow I'll have a good enough connection again to post a photo of him (I personally don't like the new photo format here on X and would've preferred to be able to post their pictures side by side without having to scroll, just as it used to be). And I'll add an account of the formidable months long battle he fought to stay alive. My brave, glorious little boy.
Sleep well, my little ones. I miss you both so much.

"An Upper Tribunal judge ruled"
Not ECHR.
π¨JUST IN: Migrant rapist who attacked sleeping woman wins right to stay in Britain on human rights grounds.
An immigration tribunal has blocked the deportation of a convicted sex offender.
β’ Hendrix Ekwen, 34, an Italian national of Nigerian heritage, was jailed for eight years after raping a drunk woman who had fallen asleep in 2017.
β’ The victim woke to find him having sex with her after she had earlier had consensual relations with his friend.
β’ Ekwen spent years denying responsibility and blaming the victim before eventually accepting guilt.
β’ An Upper Tribunal judge ruled he could remain in the UK, finding he no longer posed a sufficiently serious threat after claiming he had βlearned his lesson.β
β’ The decision was made on human rights grounds; Reform UK has pledged to deport him if it gains power.

There's clearly a government sponsored disinformation campaign to lie about the impact of ULEZ and misrepresent what the evidence shows. This is designed to bolster support for the next stage of the anti-car agenda, which will be even more draconian.

By popular demand.
Escape to England.
In today's episode, a high faluting couple who have ideas above their station are looking for a large pile in the countryside, surrounded by trees. As they value their privacy. π They've just returned from a stint in her home of California. But he never settled there. The sun wasn't good for his complexion. π₯΅
They have an unlimited budget as they have family money. His family. π¬
They want at least 8 bedrooms and bathrooms as they have two little faceless children and staff to help the Missus of the house wash out jars for her jam making business.
He wants..........well, everything really. As long as he doesn't have to pay for it. Although a library would be nice for him to store his law tomes, all on the subject of litigation against the British press. He's newly qualified in this subject, so we're told.
Property 1. Central London. Buckingham something or the other. The Missus likes this one as it's near all the shops but worries getting about will be a nightmare thanks to the Mayor's traffic calming measures. They're ruling this one out.
Property 2. Somewhere in Norfolk. On an estate owned by the King of England is a large country house where their nearest neighbour would be a 60 something divorced man who lives a hermit like existence. So they wouldn't be troubled by the neighbours. The Mister is worried there's not enough accommodation for all his protection officers. So that's a no then. ππ¬
Property 3. Berkshire.
There's a castle near this one and a large house in the grounds called Frogmore Cottage. But the Missus thinks it's a bit small and it was only refurbished a couple of years ago so might need work.
The Mister and Missus vow to continue their search and are planning to visit his uncle Charles very soon to ask his opinion on the properties. And budget. π·
The Missus is busy practising her doe eyes and polishing, not only her begging bowl, but her life story entitled 'Woe is Me' in the vain hope it'll bring in a few more bob to add to their budget. Failing that, his Pa has always been a soft touch. π€£
