Elon outlines it here but I just covered this in my post - optimistictech.substack.com/โฆ
Replying to @chamath
Pretty much.
As of the past few weeks, debt markets have almost entirely shut off access to money for any company that doesnโt have substantial revenue independent of AI data centers.
SpaceX closed $40B of debt for GPUs, but weโre investment grade and have Starlink & launch revenue.
That means the 200+ neoclouds are going to see guppy-level death and consolidation. Some will make it through, but not many.
My fingers work! I wrote something new after a long summer layoff. I looked into the future and I can tell you exactly whatโs gonna happen with AI: optimistictech.substack.com/โฆ
Wrote another absolute banger and ready for it to be, as usual, completely ignored in this platform. But a man must try:

We can/will avoid future energy shocks if we can make fusion happen.

Nice work here from @_RHoward and Optimistic Tech.
History doesn't repeat, but it rhymes. Is it possible that that AIโs insatiable demand for energy and it's ability to produce intelligence could finally crack fusion???
This happened before. As explored at Risk & Progress, the Newcomen Steam engine drove demand for coal, while also making it possible to automatically pump water from mines, enabling us to mine more coal.
The history of technology is often defined by feedback loops and ASI/Fusion look like a tight pair.
Thank you @GoDaddy for keeping the dreams alive. This is the year is I'll use all those domains for the business ideas I once had. This is the year I can feel it...
Gonna be funny if VCโs just started pouring money into defence tech only for 2 of the biggest reasons it was needed to get absolutely neutralised by countries 1/10th their size
Did you know that the invention of fertilizer helped the world avoid a famine in the 60's? But it comes with lots of trade-offs.
So let me introduce you to @NitricityInc

Tablet is one of the few outlets that cuts through the noise โ publishing fact-based, data-driven work that actually shifts the conversation.
In a new investigation, @ZachG932 exposes how the media played a key role in mainstreaming the โgenocideโ lie in public discourse ๐งต
