Victory for Liberty! In Argentina, the Libertarian President's party just doubled its seats in Congress. Here are some of his free market reforms:

3 interesting findings: 1. Narcissism correlates with a strong tendency to take offense. This is driven by an exaggerated sense of entitlement and an inability to tolerate minor slights. Narcissists even pretend to be offended as a way to gain a social or strategic advantage.

What people reveal when they say insane things like that is that they themselves are a taker, not a maker, so they assume others are takers too. It obviously makes no sense, as without the makers of the world, there would be nothing for the takers to take.

Despite significant growth by our competitors, especially China, SpaceX will probably increase from ~90% of Earth’s total payload to orbit to ~98% in about 24 months due to Starship

A tweet/post is how I initiated the dozen or so startups that constitute Tesla. Tesla has made very few acquisitions. Our growth is ~90% organic. We didn’t “play to our core strengths”, we created core strengths from nothing.
The tweet Ashok responded to that got him hired at Tesla

3 interesting findings: 1. Married moms are less happy when their husbands are at home than when their husbands are employed full time. When women lose their jobs, there’s no effect on the risk of divorce. When men lose their jobs, their risk of divorce goes up 33%.

It will take them over 5 years to reach Falcon 9 levels of reliability and production/launch rate, by which time SpaceX will have transitioned to Starship and be doing over 100 times the annual payload to orbit of Falcon

A reminder that rapid evolution of technology is the only way to win. Those who don’t innovate rapidly are doomed to fail. The next Starship launch is version 3, which is radically better than version 2. Then, in a few years, V4 will double the payload of V3.

Much, much harder to be a quarterback than an armchair quarterback
Just read that Starbucks lost $30B after hiring a McKinsey consultant as CEO. Guy spent his career advising founders how to build companies, but never built one himself. 17 months later, he’s gone. They bring in the Taco Bell CEO… and the market cap jumps $20B overnight. Turns out running a company is harder than advising one.

Women who self-identify as feminists tend to show much stronger preferences for premium beauty products compared with non-feminist women. The practical purpose—and effect—of these investments is to help elite women stand out relative to their female rivals. I learned about this in the excellent book We’ve Never Been Woke by Musa al-Gharbi. He points out that there’s a clear relationship between higher levels of education and the likelihood of self-identifying as a feminist among women. But as women climb the educational ladder, the pool of men they consider desirable gets smaller. So you end up with this interesting dynamic: women who are more educated—and therefore more likely to identify as feminists—often have a harder time finding suitable partners. In turn, some of them invest more in cosmetics and other appearance-enhancing products to make themselves more appealing. It's a little counterintuitive: the more likely a woman is to identify as a feminist, the more likely she is to buy expensive beauty products.

The culture argument is the most interesting one to me and is basically “East Asians are just better at it” which sounds kind of ridiculous until you realize the only reason there’s been an American manufacturing renaissance lately is because of one guy, Elon Musk, who also tends to act the same way East Asians do wrt to manufacturing and industry

Tesla is worth more than all other automotive companies combined. Which of those CEOs would you like to run Tesla? It won’t be me.

It’s taken 13.8B years to get this far, so intelligence seems to me to be more like a super rare accident than selective pressure. Earth is ~4.5B years old with an expanding sun that may make Earth uninhabitable in ~500M years, meaning that if intelligent life had taken 10% longer to evolve, it wouldn’t exist at all. grok.com/share/bGVnYWN5_7b3e…

Humanity was on a path of increasing launch cost and diminishing capability, so it might never have happened. SpaceX is an attempt to change that, but we still have a very long way to go to make life multiplanetary.

Starship is a planet-colonizer class rocket. The magnitude of that task makes every other space transport task trivial.
Starship HLS is going to have 135x the living volume of the Apollo LEM! Sci-fi shows from 10y ago imagined future landers would be ~10x larger than the LEM, but we’re skipping over an entire generation and going straight to giant multipurpose ships. SpaceX is 20 years ahead.

There’s a special torture in hell for the Judas that leaks a group chat. The group chat is sacred. It’s the only safe space men have left to call each other retards and homos. You don’t take that from a man. That’s evil.
