The problem is that immigration ensures that conservatism loses. The world is not โconservative,โ by American standards. Even if Muslims or Hindus oppose leftwing morality (trans, abortion, gay right, etc,), they prioritize material gain over universal moral policy when they arrive. And they have enough ingroup solidarity to prevent abortion, homosexuality, etc. among themselves. And they retain post-colonial grievance, which is imputed to whites in general.
Bo French sees what is at stake. Multiculturalism produces a feverishly material society entirely unconcerned with any formal social norms besides โtolerance.โ

If a Christian repeatedly engages in obvious sinโsay slandering othersโhe is a practical antinomian.

The fact is, material concerns (eg prices) trump universal moral concerns. That is a fact of democracy, only disrupted by middle class prosperity and stability. It is exacerbated by multiculturalism and the loss of religion as a formal norm.
Groups in the US that were, by culture, more altruistic and had universal moral concerns are now facing a population with a โtake what you can getโ ethos. The natural response is conformity to that ethos.
The swing in young people voting reflects it. Fewer people are moored to an altruistic ethos. Economic survival trumps virtue.

Second is that the GOP's pro-life nominalism has been exposed as a sham. Thank God that in Missouri some GOP politicians (Kehoe, Hawley) actually spent some political capital for the pro-life amendment.

When someone is showing signs of being an antinomian, I ask whether they've been reading R Scott Clark. Typically the answer is yes.
Mike is right about Paul Washer. When people in crisis over lack of assurance contact me one of the diagnostic questions I ask is whether this person has been listening to Washer. I also ask if this person has been listening to John MacArthur. Typically the person in crisis has been listening to one or both.

For nearly three centuries, the Roman emperors sought to extinguish Christianity. Yet the more fiercely they persecuted the Church, the more remarkably she endured.
From Nero to Diocletian, successive waves of persecution swept across the Roman Empire.
Christians were stripped of their possessions, driven from their occupations, imprisoned, tortured, and murdered. Their churches and schools were destroyed. Their assemblies were forbidden under penalty of death.
Some were thrown to wild beasts. Others were burned alive, torn apart, or subjected to the most dreadful instruments of torture.
Wilhelmus ร Brakel, in his commentary on Revelation, describes persecutions so terrible that the blood of the martyrs formed pools, rivers ran red, and entire Christian communities were slaughtered.
The persecution reached its terrible climax under Diocletian, whose imperial campaign against Christianity began in AD 303.
Church buildings were demolished, Christian worship was suppressed, and believers were commanded to sacrifice to the pagan gods.
After centuries of bloodshed, the Church appeared to be approaching extermination.
Then God raised up Constantine the Great.
In AD 312, Constantine marched against Maxentius, defeated his army at the Battle of the Milvian Bridge, and entered Rome victorious.
In AD 313, Constantine and Licinius proclaimed religious toleration, bringing relief to Christians throughout their territories.
But the struggle for the empire was not yet finished.
Licinius, ruler of the East, eventually became Constantine's formidable enemy. In AD 324, Constantine marched against him, defeated his armies, and secured dominion over the whole Roman Empire.
The persecuting empire had been conquered.
Christianity emerged triumphant.
The imperial decrees against Christianity were overturned. Confiscated property was restored. Christians assembled openly, built churches, and received appointments to civil and military offices.
The religion that Roman emperors had sought to destroy now enjoyed the protection and patronage of the emperor himself.
ร Brakel understood this tremendous revolution as the fulfillment of the sixth seal of Revelation 6, in which the powers of pagan Rome were shaken and brought low.
He also identified Constantine with the man-child of Revelation 12, raised up in God's providence to deliver the Church from the fury of her persecutors.
Consider the astonishing reversal.
The emperors had demanded that Christians sacrifice to their gods or perish.
Generations of martyrs had refused.
Their property had been plundered, their churches destroyed, and their blood poured out. Yet Rome had utterly failed to extinguish the Christian faith.
Now the emperor himself professed Christianity, the Church worshipped publicly, and the pagan establishment was losing its ancient supremacy.
The empire that had hunted the Church was now ruled by a man who defended her.
Such was the extraordinary triumph of Christianity under Constantine the Great, and such was the providence of God in preserving His Church against the mightiest empire on earth.

The Grand Old Stupid Party should do the following on Monday--they won't, but they should.
1. End the filibuster in the Senate and immediately pass the SAVE Act--dubious constitutionally but let the courts sort it out.
2. Pass legislation adding 5 members to SCOTUS and fast track putting them on the bench. Also Trump should ask Thomas and Alito to retire now so that he can nominate 7 men before January.
3. Trump calls a special session of Congress before the Democrats are sworn in to finalize the nominations and pass the SAVE Act.

โYou must settle these things in your mindโ
God has not spared us, Trump was his judgement, and all these things will come to pass.
Good news/Bad news
First the bad news:
-The people who celebrated the murder of Charlie Kirk gained enormous political power last night.
-The Red/Green alliance will continue to grow in power.
-The DSA will continue to grow in power.
-The people who have come here illegally or through a flawed visa system will get away with even more fraud.
-The secure border is in jeopardy and my guess is waves of illegals start pouring into the country again.
-The people who hate our culture and people will double down.
-Law enforcement will be attacked like never before.
-The attack on Christianity will grow.
-The displacement of Americans in colleges and in the workforce will increase.
-The dishonest brokers in the media will ramp up calls of racism and hate for simply wanting to protect America.
-We are all much less safe.
There is some good news:
-In Texas, a Republican majority in the State Senate will be able to stop a lot of what the radical democrats will try.
-The Trump administration still runs the Executive branch for the next two years and should be able to stop some of the crazy in Congress.
-The smaller Republican coalition will have to have an honest conversation about how we move forward.
-Republicans will have to admit they carry some of blame, not just for the last two years, but for decades of not helping our people.
-The realization that 6 million Christians stayed home should wake up dead churches.
-Really bad people, even on our side were totally exposed.
-Democrats will be so radical that the voters will remember how bad they are.
-The pendulum will inevitably swing back in 2028.
-New leaders will emerge and lead the fight to save our state, our country and our culture.

King Alfred was a noble Christian King.
He divided the day and night into three parts, and spent 8 hours in study, 8 hours in prayer, and 8 hours resting and dealing with the affairs of the Kingdom.
He was distinguished as a grammarian, philosopher, rhetorician, historian, and musician.
Having defeated the Danes, he set himself to translate Christian books in libraries that the Danes had burned down.
Alfred translated Boethius' Consolation of Philosophy, and Gregory the Great's Pastoral Rule into the native tongue so that his people understood it. He was translating David's Psalms before his death.
He stirred up a love of learning among the English people.
He governed for over 29 years.
John Foxe described him as "a rare and profitable example of other Christen kings and Princes, for them to follow."
May the Lord raise up more King Alfreds.

If the cause is just and the truth is on your side, do not be lured down from the high ground. Thereโs no escape from being slandered, so turn instead to better arguments. As Paul said to Titus: โsound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about usโ (2:8).
The slander of the virtue signalers and the perverse language of the fool are both called out as evil. It is a false dichotomy to think it is either one way or another. Being truly virtuous does not scandal other men through lies and you do not have to be perverse in language to be truthful.
"Whoever hides hatred has lying lips,
And whoever spreads slander is a fool.
In the multitude of words sin is not lacking,
But he who restrains his lips is wise."
โ Proverbs 10:18-19
"The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom,
But the perverse tongue will be cut out.
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
But the mouth of the wicked what is perverse."
โ Proverbs 10:31-32

The objection rests upon a fundamental misunderstanding of Scripture.
When Christ declared, โI and my Father are oneโ (John 10:30), he was not offering an exhaustive enumeration of the persons of the Godhead.
He was declaring his essential unity with the Father.
Jerome Zanchi, in On the Incarnation of the Son of God (Vol. I, p. 33), explains that the Jews understood this declaration as Christ making himself God, equal to the Father in divine power.
But why suppose that naming the Father excludes the Holy Spirit?
Zanchi explicitly refutes this very principle of interpretation in Volume I, page 104.
He quotes Augustine who writes:
โWhen one of the three is named in some work, should the whole Trinity be understood to act? Indeed it should, and this can be confirmed by examples.โ
He observes that Scripture frequently attributes divine works to one person without excluding the others.
John 1:3 attributes creation to the Son. Does that exclude the Father and Holy Spirit?
John 3 attributes regeneration to the Holy Spirit. Does that exclude the Father and Son?
John 6:44 attributes the drawing of sinners to the Father. Does that mean the Son and Holy Spirit do not draw?
Certainly not.
Zanchi states the governing principle: โThe external works of the Trinity are undividedโ (Vol. I, p. 101).
Moreover, the assertion that Jesus never taught the Trinity ignores his own words.
In John 14:16, Christ declares that he will pray to the Father, who will send another Comforter. Here are the Son, the Father, and the Holy Spirit, personally distinguished.
And in Matthew 28:19, Christ explicitly commands baptism โin the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.โ
Notice that Christ says โname,โ singular, while expressly naming three distinct persons.
Zanchi explains that the divine essence is one and indivisible, wholly possessed by the Father, wholly possessed by the Son, and wholly possessed by the Holy Spirit (Vol. I, pp. 107โ108).
The Father is not the Son; the Son is not the Holy Spirit; yet all three possess the one divine essence.
Therefore, Christ's declaration that he and the Father are one establishes his deity without denying the deity of the Holy Spirit.
An omission in one particular statement does not constitute a denial of what Scripture expressly teaches elsewhere.
The Trinity was not invented because Christ neglected to teach it.
Rather, the Church articulated its doctrine because it was compelled to confess everything Scripture reveals about the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

I think a Christian may reasonably vote a straight Republican ticket and hope to better love his neighbors by doing it. I donโt even think you have to be a โplan trusterโ to come to this conclusion.
But, I will say that for those of us who have come to doubt the โplan,โ have reason to doubt a plan even exists, or that if there is one that it is a moral one or serves the interests of our American neighbors (much less the middle-east), it would be helpful to know there is a line the PTers will not cross. Especially if there is any hope for building coalition together, after the midterms, after Trumpโs presidency.
