@UseMissionCtrl wants to turn every machinist into Tony Stark. That's why we built Bob. The Co-Engineer for real life. If you're building something, DM me. We're delivering pelican cases of Bob every week. youtube.com/watch?v=XxYVAmHp…

When I was a kid there was a TV show about a space ship where humans met the universe with competence, nobility, and expansive, powerful compassion. This is still the future worth living in and the one worth fighting for

we’ve got no business catching what is clearly a minor god or powerful spirit of the river
A St Louis woman has caught a recording breaking fish in British Columbia. It's an 11 ft. 4 in. white sturgeon. It's officially the largest freshwater fish ever caught by a female angler at 1,200 pounds. The fish was tagged and released. Hear Katharine Eckert tell The Chris & Amy show all about this wild experience!

Get on a plane. Fly places. Meet the real people - in person - who need what you’re building. Listen carefully, take notes, and break bread. You can’t solve it from a whiteboard. Had the incredible opportunity to meet @MatthewChang today at one of Chang Robotics’ facilities. He and his crazy smart team are growing quickly. Which is no surprise: they have a wildly clear understanding of what it takes to stand up new factories, and what real teams need from real robotics platforms. What a refreshing break from the hype. Flew out with a case of Bob units: the gameboy and the vegeta scouter. Ethan took to it immediately. These tools are built to help winning teams go from great to untouchable by combining the intuition and genius of a human roboticist/machinist with what AI is naturally good at. We’re proud to support Chang and grateful for the unique opportunity we got today. Thanks Matt and looking forward to more to come 👊🙏🍻
Meet your mutuals IRL, especially if they bring AI knowledge capture for robotics to your robot lab. That’s me wearing AI glasses building a digital Matt with Ramsay Brown. @_ramsaybrown made the trip to Jacksonville to demo Mission Control while our techs had a scheduled autonomous robot repair. Our tech Ethan, who is a 24 year old engineering grad from @JacksonvilleU, replaced the braking system on a @MobileIndRobots by @Teradyneinc AMR. That knowledge is now captured in a digital SOP with video, transcript, and auto generated PDF for training. The next generation of new hires will talk to digital Ethan before repairing an AMR. The guy in the blue shirt is Joe, our CIO who is responsible for our SOC2 compliance and data privacy. It is very challenging to get hard tech through Joe. So far Ramsay seems to be winning him over based on starting with a sovereign data architecture. My plan is to deploy this technology with our field technicians while we build a factory, and turn over the SOP’s to our customers as a gift, replacing/supplementing the legacy practice of O&M manuals. At the local trade schools, where the factory operators train prior to employment at the factories we build, the operators will be able to train on the SOP’s our technicians generate during install and commissioning. -your neighborhood engineer CC: @spkcostello

Inspired by @Sauers_ and @jfonsecarivera and other fun recent work with personas in AI models, I built a partial neuron atlas for Talkie-1930, the historical language model created by @status_effects and @AlecRad. Here's the link: talkieneurons.vercel.app

I've lost count of how many times I've reread Designing the Star User Interface (1982) from Xerox PARC. Every time, I'm struck by how sincere and thoughtful the writing is. Really want to share this with anyone thinking about the next generation of UIs. A few things that particularly resonate with me (there's so much more in the article): 1. A consistent conceptual model matters. I believe the next generation of UIs should be generative and adaptive, but still follow a coherent, learnable set of 'physics'. Malleability shouldn't come at the cost of predictability. 2. Simplicity should be a first-order design principle (something LLMs are bad at). Fewer buttons, clicks, or keystrokes don't necessarily make an interface simpler. Nor does adding more. "simple things should be simple; complex things should be possible" 3. Plan to throw one away; you will, anyhow. Many prototypes are meant to challenge assumptions - they should be designed to be thrown away, rather than promising to deliver the throwaway to users. ** What stays with me most is just how much nuanced, deliberate thinking went into the WIMP interfaces we've inherited, and are now eager to reinvent. We need at least the same depth of thought and care. Still have a long way to go.

1/4 Meet Qwenputer: Qwen3.5-4B with a full RISC-V CPU inside its weights, using the model's own Gated DeltaNet layers as RAM. It runs C and MicroPython in its forward passes, no external runtime. On DeepMind math: base 55–90%, base + Python tool 95–100%, Qwenputer 97.5–100%.

Today, @FoundryRobotics is announcing our $100M Series A, led by @MarlinspikeVC with continued support from @khoslaventures. Together we’re securing America's ability to defend, compete, and innovate by building critical hardware at home with our new 130,000-square-foot factory in Emeryville, California. We’re already shipping to paying customers across energy, telecom, autonomous vehicles, and defense. The next era of American manufacturing starts here. Time to build.

At 600 lines a minute, the tray on our CO2 laser shakes and the prints come out wavy. The fix is a pad of sticky notes jammed into the corner of the bay. Our software wrote it into the procedure as a "stabilizing pad." What's the sticky-note fix in your shop?

Today @biosphereio is announcing a $21m contract with @DeptofWar to advance our industrial biomanufacturing systems for production of critical chemicals domestically, at scale and at dramatically lower cost. Expanding the US' ability to make chemicals for energy, food, medicine, and defense is crucial to our survival. We're solving this with the most potent and capable manufacturing technology known to man: biology. biosphere.io/article/biosphe…
