We were 4 guys and people called us the 4-musketeers. I never knew how wealthy the parents of one us were until 400L during IT, when he took us to their mansion (emphasis on mansion pls). I was very slim but that boy slim pass me; though he had a soft look and carries himself like a Nepo baby. This is someone that wears my clothes (we wore each other’s clothes though), hustles beans and bread with us in the buka, we both battle rats, mosquitoes, bedbugs in school hostel, and trek from main gate to anywhere. All that changed after that visit to their house. His mom released their smallest car to him (Toyota big for nothing), we moved out of school hostel to senior staff quarters, she got him the latest gadgets; it was more like the mom gave him approval to live up to their actual standard. The mom also said that she has heard so much about us, and that we have been good influences in his life…whereas we were birds of same feather o. Apparently, the mom is very strict, and a no nonsense woman; and for reasons known to her, she deliberately key him on a very tight lease . That first day I stepped in their compound, I told my guy that his mom’s car was too pretty to be dusty, he should get me a towel so I’d clean it, the mom overheard and that statement changed our life forever. After that period, any holiday no matter how brief was a trip overseas for him, and he’d come back with loads of stuffs for us. In his case, it was just him being himself because he isn’t really the materialistic type; just gadgets, games, and travel, and his parents didn’t really give him that space to flaunt their wealth. The attached picture was taken in 2017, when we first visited their house (if you laugh God will bend your mouth) Fast forward to today, we have relocated and live within a few hours of drive away from each other. We would recreate that picture soon; though the two lanky ones in that picture are still lanky.
We all have that friend who is from a wealthy home but always acts poor. They’ll share the same bed with a torn bedsheet with you. They’ll eat concoction rice with you. They’ll play street football in the rain with you. Share pure water with you. My question is this: Is it humility and simplicity? or is it privilege giving them the freedom to experience struggle without actually being trapped in it?

Why is Starlink packaged as a charity giveaway when it’s not free? Because it’s not about selling internet, it’s about intel gathering.

The law is an ass! A very ugly, and sometimes, a useless ass. It is no problem with the police lying about how k!dnapped victims were released, but it has problems with someone saying the truth of what happened
🚨 She said they paid ₦6M as ransom to secure the release of their kidnapped NYSC member. But the Nigerian Police said no ransom was paid. The Imo State Government also said no ransom was paid. So, who is telling Nigerians the truth? πŸ‘€ The lady, who is a family member of one of the recently released NYSC members, made this shocking revelation during an interview. Now, here is the legal angle nobody should ignore. βš–οΈ It is a crime to pay ransom to kidnΓ’ppers to frΓͺe your loved ones. As painful as it sounds, the law is not emotional. Admitting to paying ₦6M could expose her and whoever was involved to crim!nal investigation and possible prosecution. The law provides serious punishment for ransom payment, including up to 15 years’ impr!sonment under the applicable provisions. My concern is this: I hope Nigerians understand the legal implications before speaking publicly about such matters. If your loved one is k!dnapped, report the matter to the Police and seek urgent intervention. No family should have to face this nightmare. Before you come for Dammy, I no follow write the law oooo! The law is not emotional.

When they want to gaslight a sovereign nation, they’d start talking of education, vulnerable children, women… Same gimmicks
Dear Prime Minister Ambani, Please accept my humble apologies for not realizing that you are the real boss of India. Naturally, you would prefer to maintain your monopolistic exploitation of the great people of India, but would you nonetheless consider allowing Starlink to compete? There are many areas of India, as there are in all countries, with no Internet access, which denies children the opportunity for education and for small businesses the opportunity to sell their goods to a global market. Starlink would change their lives for the better. Thank you πŸ™

How many business men can comfortably bring out 120-170k to pay for prescribed medical glasses in Nigeria? Most of them rather use that money to buy meat and drink alcohol.
"My phone screen is just too small to read these invoices." That’s what a businessman told us after struggling through inventory and supplier sheets. To see the totals, he was stretching his phone out at full arm's length. He blamed the device. He bought the biggest Pro Max model, enlarged his laptop font, and blamed the dull afternoon ache behind his eyes on supplier headaches and market stress. In the exam chair, his distance vision was a sharp 20/20. The phone wasn't failing him. His natural lenses were quietly losing their flexibility with age, classic presbyopia. His focusing muscles were fighting a daily uphill battle just to hold numbers in place, draining him long before the workday was over. A larger screen won't fix stiff natural lenses. Whether you’re managing shipments in Lagos or running stores across Toronto, your arms can only stretch so far. If reading the fine print suddenly requires bright lighting and arm gymnastics, don't buy another phone. Book an exam and let the right near correction do the work.

Are we actually going to see Manchester City relegated, or will they just be stripped of some titles and handed a points deduction?

Parents that immediately they reach abroad, they throwaway their Nigerian characteristics and be doing phonetics with their children are mostly the ones that experience this. Train your child with Nigerian values, slangs, language, and food. You know the gimmicks the system uses, deconstruct their mind from it whenever they come back from school. At home, forget talks of mental health, confidence, self esteem, and β€œI don’t feel comfortable” rogbodiyan. Lastly, be their father and their friend; that is be firm and be playful . When you play by these rules, you can get away with murdΒ£r Thank me later.
Raising Children Abroad Is a Delicate Issue! πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ A 10-year-old daughter of a Nigerian man living in my neighbourhood here in the UK πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ reported to her teachers that her father had beaten her. The teachers contacted social services, and the matter was investigated. Unfortunately, the father also worked in social care. The girl was taken to the hospital for a medical examination, but according to the information I received, no visible injuries were found on her body. Despite this, the father was arrested and subsequently instructed not to return to his family home for 6 months. He also lost his job in social care.

Replying to @boye4christ2006
An acquaintance told us of how his friend’s kids were too stubborn ,he will drive to Nigerian embassy in their country of residence and beat them in the car. After crying, he’ll bring out treats and take them to the park to cool off. Then go again after a while & that was how they understood he was extending their punishment Another called child services, their mother spoke Yoruba & told them that if they are arrested, they will be taken to foster parents. The social worker was asking what she said, she told them that she was praying Only for the kids to deny that their mum never beat them because they didn’t want to go to foster homes. Someone like me that my hand moves fast, only God can help me.

If I knew adulthood was going to be like this, honestly, I would have stopped growing at the age of 12. Nothing is funny anymore compared to when we were kids.

Health is better than money of any degree. Not even $100M is a high enough price for your health. The day something happens to your body that you're stuck lying on a bed, that’s when you’ll realize without your health, nothing else matters, not even your ambitions

I can see that she's still a young girl who doesn't really know what to do with money. Perhaps she has some guys spending money on her, which may be why she can easily get that kind of money and come online to show it off. One major thing is that this kind of behaviour shows a lack of wisdom. We share this app with all kinds of people, including kidnappers and bandits who may be monitoring people's activities online. When you post things like this, some people may take note of your lifestyle, your financial status, and your properties, and begin to see you as a potential target. You don't come on social media and start bragging about your money or showing off your properties carelessly. You may think you are simply showing off your achievements, but you could be exposing yourself to unnecessary danger. Considering the level of insecurity in our nation, you need to be extremely careful about what you share online. .
Spent 1.2 million naira on a wig in this current economy and she's even coming online to boast about it This is absolute vanity. There is no wisdom in putting a piece of hair worth over a million naira on your head when that same amount could fund a legitimate small business. What is even more embarrassing is the desperate need for social media validation. Before you start clapping for her, ask her if she owns an emergency funds or stable income streams. No offense.

This is the bicycle parking area for Mechanical Engineering students at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. Almost every student and lecturer owns a bicycle. Interestingly, life expectancy in the Netherlands is 81.9 years, and 89% of adults meet recommended physical activity levels. A healthy society is not built through hospitals alone, but also through infrastructure that encourages healthy living.
