White 56-year-old husband and father Fredrick Lytton was working alongside Black 23-year-old Devin Rice at a U-Haul facility in West Nashville. You already know how this ends. The two men were reportedly arguing about a soda when Fredrick Lytton turned and walked away from the verbal dispute, returning to his work station. Moments later, Devin Rice walked up behind Lytton, pulled out a handgun, and emptied it into Lytton's back, killing him. Point blank murder, on the job, in broad daylight, over an argument about a soda that Lytton had already walked away from. Just look at young Devin's angel face. Who could have possibly predicted that such a sweet boy would have such low impulse control? It's been a week since this Black-on-White murder and, as usual, zero national coverage. Numerous local media have covered the story. Zero have published the White victim's photograph.

AI compute is compounding at ~3.4× per year right now (doubling every 7 months). AMD’s own SEC filings and roadmaps already show multi-gigawatt hyperscaler deals and a claimed 1,000× system-level AI performance jump from MI300X (2023) to MI500 (2027). Repeat 1000 x performance increases . Extrapolate that trajectory at a reasonable rate for another decade and you’re looking at 1,000× to 50,000× more effective AI compute by 2036. What that actually means in the real world: • Electricity becomes the new limiting resource. Data centers are on track to demand multi-terawatts. Power grids, nuclear, and clean firm power decide who scales. • Capabilities cross into qualitatively new territory — autonomous agents, scientific discovery engines, and systems that feel closer to general intelligence. • Trillions in annual CapEx. Extreme concentration of power among hyperscalers, chipmakers, and energy providers. Massive productivity upside + white-collar disruption. • Physical limits (energy, fabs, HBM, cooling, materials) start binding hard. The pure exponential will slow, but not before it reshapes everything. We can clutch our pearls about the financials - debt -forward leveraged finance but the future isn’t a secret either . It’s going to happen . It’s already written in the 10-Ks, the GW commitments, and the roadmaps. Most people are still treating the numbers like science fiction. They’re really not Sci Fi and it’s all right not to fully understand the consequences because nobody really does . It’s not 2000 , this isn’t petsdotcom or Cisco , this is the autonomous swarmbot drone storms era , not a new home page era . This is consequential to the human race , nation state , community and individual . We are only 5% into the AI era , we literally can’t even imagine what will unfold , be ok with that because that won’t change for any of us , it’s a marathon not a sprint .

This experiment, known as an audit study, sent identical CVs to STEM academics. They rated blacks and women over whites and men. Evidence of anti-white and anti-male discrimination. Aligns with similar audit studies in other occupations.
Wow. New preprint (not mine): " Faculty received an identical CV with only the candidate’s name varying to signal their gender and race, using a 2 Race (Black vs. White) by 2 Gender (male, female) between-subjects factorial design. Results revealed that STEM faculty evaluated female and Black candidates' research record significantly more favorably and recommended them for tenure and promotion at higher rates, compared to male and White candidates with identical CVs." osf.io/preprints/psyarxiv/jq…

Il n’y a qu’en France où la victoire d’un club de foot provoque des émeutes. Il n’y a qu’en France où chacun se sent obligé de s’enfermer chez soi un soir de victoire pour éviter d’être confronté à des violences.

This morning @scratchyjohnson tweeted an important factoid. Squanto, the Indian who spoke English and helped the pilgrims survive, was sold by John Smith to a Spaniards and the deed exists in the city we're in for Excursion. Rather than rolling our eyes, Alan, Gavin & I went to the state archives in Málaga to see if we can find said recorded deed of 20 Indians sold by John Smith to Juan Bautista Reales. We get to the Archives (see Alan's picture below), and a small genial white lab coat wearing gentleman who speaks no English says this is impossible to find. His new boss, the head archivist, Carmen, comes in and says it certainly exists but may be difficult to find. If you only had the year. We tell her it was 1614. She pulls up a list of the books from 29 notaries whose work they have from 1614. She asks who the notary was. We have no idea. They say they can't go through 29 archives to look for it. Also it's all in old Spanish which nobody speaks and it'll be hard to locate even if they know the Notary. So Alan and Gavin get to work. Gavin finds an article in the internet archive that seems to have a partial picture of the document. Carmen and the other archivist decipher the name after 15 min. They find that name in their cross reference. Carmen goes to the vault to look while the lab coat gentleman asks for my life history, driver's licence number and a lien on my grandchildren. Totally worth it. Carmen comes back to say she found the volume. It is tremendously delicate. Opening it may break some pages. Does it have to be today because if so the answer will be no. We ask her if this is interesting to them. Both very seriously nod their heads. We tell them this is very important to the United States and many of our friends. Carmen tells us she will find it but that it takes time. White linen gloves and patience. We tell her to take her time. She says she will take a picture and email it to me. So here's why all this is important: after Squanto was sold by an Englishman to a Spaniard names Reales, said Spaniard brought Squanto and 19 other "inios" to Málaga. He recorded the deed in the state archives. Then a Franciscan priest ransomed Squanto. Squanto became Catholic. Was baptized and confirmed in Málaga. He then made his way to England where he worked and learned English. He paid his passage back across the ocean and found his Wampanoag tribesmen. Then when the Pilgrims landed they found a Catholic English-speaking native who helped them survive their first winter. It is entirely possible that but for a Franciscan priest who ransomed Squanto, the Pilgrims may not have survived their first winter in New England. That's history. American history. And the record of it is in Málaga. In a book. One of 29 books kept by notaries in Málaga in 1614. That are still searchable. This image, when it comes, belongs in the US National Archive. This is Cultural Debris. nitter.cf/i/status/2034931960146… cc: @alancornett @gwbled @Gonnassaurius_ @wrathofgnon

> Blockade the strait > Set up a toll booth > Receive exactly $0 > Get blockaded yourself and have your economy put in a chokehold What is this strategy called?
BUT THE EFFORT HAS PRODUCED LIMITED RESULTS, WITH ONLY ABOUT 60 PERMITS ISSUED, PAYMENT REQUESTS SENT FOR JUST EIGHT SHIPMENTS AND NO FUNDS COLLECTED SO FAR, THE SOURCES SAID, CITING WEAK MANAGEMENT OF THE PROCESS.

It is clear that the powers in the world felt Trump had finally overreached. That his hubris had finally led him into a historic blunder. They know that if instead Trump is able to pull off an accomplishment considered to be impossible without the help of any allies, his power will soar. They fear a transcendent Trump more than they fear an oil shock. They realize the implications on the other side of a Trump victory against Iran.

JUST IN - Trump orders the U.S. Navy to blockade the Strait of Hormuz to "any and all ships trying to enter, or leave." Also instructing the U.S. Navy to seek and interdict every vessel in international waters that has paid a toll to Iran: "No one who pays an illegal toll will have safe passage on the high seas."

In Tolstoy's War and Peace, most of the characters are Russian nobles. Most of them speak French for most of the novel. French culture is the aspirational aim they all imitate. They are alienated from their Russian heartland, spending most of their time in St. Petersburg and Moscow, instead of their ancestral estates. They debate European ideas, and the virtues of Napoleon. Only when Napoleon invades, and the nation is put into life or death, do they all instinctually switch to Russian. The invasion reaches Moscow, and Moscow is set on fire. This furnace burns away their affectations and forces them to recover their Motherland and mother tongue. It does feel like something similar is happening in the United States now. The massive momentum in every domain, plus the stacking wins (Artemis, Maduro, the Easter salvation of the pilot) are burning away the false and anti-american elements. America is returning, and Americans are recovering their Americanness.
🚨“WE GOT HIM! My fellow Americans, over the past several hours, the United States Military pulled off one of the most daring Search and Rescue Operations in U.S. History, for one of our incredible Crew Office Members, who also happens to be a highly respected Colonel, and who I am thrilled to let you know is SAFE and SOUND!” - President Donald J. Trump 🇺🇸

Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, who not so long ago gave a fatwa (religious decree) that “shedding the blood of Trump and the Zionists is obligatory” is now groveling to the people in a state of fear. The Islamic Republic is done. It just needs one last flick.

The U.S. is running Elon's playbook on LNG: Build it before the world knows it needs it. A decade ago, American LNG exports were near zero. Today the US is the world's largest exporter at 15 billion cubic feet per day with eight new terminals under construction. Capacity doubles to 29 billion cubic feet per day by 2029. Total capital committed: $150 billion. The contracts are 20-year take-or-pay, denominated in USD. During COVID, buyers cancelled every cargo they could. They still paid billions in fixed fees. Then Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz. Qatar, 20% of global LNG supply, went offline. Vessel transits dropped from 129 per day to 4. Europe needed a replacement. BUT the contracts were already signed. US share of European LNG: 27% in 2021, 56% today. Germany went from zero LNG imports to sourcing 94% from America. Japan is locked through 2050. American LNG is a 20-year legal obligation with no exit clause.

Why does the IRS tax code reward hiring foreigners over you? The more we dig, the worse it gets. Imagine this: You graduate with $100K in debt. A foreign student graduates from the same school. Guess what? The company gets a 15.3% tax break to hire them. Fully sourced below.
Everyone talks about H-1B. Nobody talks about what feeds it. The Student Back Door. Directly from USCIS filings & congressional reports. 381k foreign students authorized to work in ONE YEAR. No cap. No test. And when they convert to H-1B, their spouse gets authorized too.
