Lake Winnepesaukah, circa 1971. I sometimes stepped into frame at times. Dad, as a photographer, took way more pictures than I cared to be portrayed.

Copperhill, Tennessee, this is catastrophic and it's happening right now. The Ocoee River just hit major flood stage, only 3 feet from its all time peak, with homes and businesses underwater and being evacuated. If you're anywhere near that river, get to higher ground immediately and do not drive into water.
Shocked.

I don’t know why this reporter included a dig at the Institutes for Noble Maidens, but this painting of a young woman using a scientific instrument was part of the “Smolyanki” series of paintings (1772-76) meant to highlight the Russian girls’ schools’ enlightened curriculum.
Why is Russia teaching young girls to be tradwives?
In tsarist times Russia’s aristocracy sent its daughters to finishing schools known as Institutes for Noble Maidens, where social graces and domestic skills were honed in preparation for an advantageous marriage.
Similar academies are springing up around the country for the purpose of training the next generation of wives and mothers. Like their forebears these girls are taught floristry, cooking and dancing. And so too they are referred to as “noble maidens”. In the parlance of the 21st century though, a closer translation may be “tradwife”.
The Traditional Education of Girls course was founded two years ago in Udmurtia, a region in central Russia, for girls aged 10 to 16. Launched in four schools around the regional capital of Izhevsk, the programme has expanded with support of local government funding to schools across Udmurtia as well as to Krasnodar, in southern Russia, and Crimea, the peninsula illegally annexed by Russia in 2014.

When he tumbles down the stairs, I honestly can’t stop laughing. I showed this to a 15-year-old who had never heard of Peter Sellers or The Pink Panther, and when she saw this scene, she nearly peed herself laughing so hard!

Haley Stevens has displayed courage, integrity and leadership. She understood that the Democratic Party would punish her publicly and privately. And still did the right thing. To stay silent about El-Sayed’s Leninist-Islamist, antisemitic and anti-American agenda would be to be complicit in it. Heaps of shame on all those within that party that endorse him and his ilk in the vain hope that somehow actual power will change him.
Well Done Haley! BRAVO 👏

St Hubert was an 8th century French nobleman who cared little for church and preferred hunting. One day, in the Forest of Ardennes, he was pursuing a stag which suddenly turned to him, with a glowing crucifix between its antlers, and spoke.
Hubert later became a bishop.
