We came to Canada believing in justice. We built lives, worked, paid taxes, and told the truth.
Now we feel trapped by a system that may treat forced conscription as terrorist membership.
Please expose this humanitarian crisis.
#ConscriptsAreNotMembers
The Liberals National Security Strategy fails to explain how the government will keep actual terrorists and regime operatives out of the country.
At the same time, Iranians who were forced into mandatory IRGC conscription with no choice are being caught up in the screening system.
That’s dangerous incompetence.

Day 2 of our 3-day peaceful gathering in Ottawa.
Another day of families standing together, refusing to let their voices go unheard.
Behind every immigration file is a human being. Parents who fled repression, built lives in Canada, and contributed to their communities are now facing uncertainty—not only for themselves, but for their children, who had no part in their parents’ compulsory service.
These families are not asking Canada to weaken national security or turn a blind eye to the IRGC. They are asking for a fair process that distinguishes forced conscription from voluntary membership and assesses people based on their individual circumstances.
Silence and uncertainty are not answers. We continue to call on IRCC and CBSA senior decision-makers to meet with affected families, clarify the screening criteria, and address the consequences of these cases.
One day remains. We will keep showing up until these families are heard.
Conscription ≠ IRGC membership. Fairness must include the innocent.

A mandatory obligation from years ago should not automatically determine someone’s future. People grow, build careers, contribute to communities, and create families. Their immigration applications deserve a complete and balanced review that recognizes who they are and what they have actually done.

There is a kind of fear that many mothers carry silently: the fear that their children may lose the life and family stability they have worked so hard to build.
For families of Iranian conscripts, immigration uncertainty can turn ordinary days into days of anxiety. Mothers try to comfort their children while carrying worries they may not know how to explain.
How do you tell a child that the family's future is uncertain? How do you answer when they ask whether their father will always be there? How do you plan tomorrow when you do not know what an immigration decision may bring?
The government promised CASE-BY-CASE assessments. We ask for clear guidelines, transparent criteria, and meaningful consideration of each applicant's circumstances.
These families are not asking for decisions without scrutiny. They are asking that compulsory conscription and individual histories be examined fairly.
Please listen to the women living with this uncertainty. Please consider the emotional impact on children. Please provide the clarity families need to plan their lives. IRCC officers need clear guidelines.
Behind every file is a family hoping to remain together.

Thank you, MP Redekopp (@BradRedekopp), for correctly highlighting this failure.
Treating Iranian men who were forcibly conscripted with no choice, no ideological commitment, and under threat of punishment, as if members is unfair and misses the point.
Hundreds of Iranian families now face inadmissibility. Meanwhile, credible concerns remain that senior IRGC figures and regime affiliates are still moving freely in Canada.
The UK and Australia have issued guidance distinguishing involuntary conscripts from voluntary members or supporters. Canada should do the same.
Using conscripts to pad anti-terrorism numbers while genuine risks go unaddressed is the opposite of effective national security.
This approach should be halted. #ConscriptsAreNotMembers

Mr. Ehsassi (@AliEhsassi ), and Mr. Esmaeilion (@esmaeilion), please look closely at this photograph.
This child should be enjoying childhood, not standing outside an IRCC office holding a protest sign, worried about their family’s future. When you advocated for the IRGC’s designation, you said you asked the gov to exempt conscripts. Yet, critical questions remain unanswered.
Why was no representative of conscripts or their families included in those discussions?
Who was there to explain the realities of compulsory service?
What role did the testimony and publications of individuals such as Golkar and Arabi play?
Hundreds of Iranian families are now facing devastating uncertainty. The gov remains accountable for its decisions. But those who participated in the advocacy process also owe these families transparency about what was presented, whose voices were heard, and what efforts are being made to address the consequences.
This child deserves answer.

Day 1 of a 3-day peaceful gathering in Ottawa.
Families of former Iranian conscripts are outside IRCC and CBSA offices, speaking for thousands across Canada who disclosed their conscription honestly and transparently—yet face inadmissibility findings that affect their entire families including minor children.
Evidence from affected families shows that conscription alone is being treated as IRGC membership, despite previous assurances from the government.
Our request is simple: meet with IRCC senior decision-makers, explain how these cases are assessed, and listen to affected families.
Canada must have clear guidelines that distinguishes forced conscripts from voluntary IRGC members. Fairness, transparency, and family unity matter.

Thank you, @BradRedekopp for speaking out on this important issue. The distinction between ordinary Iranians compelled to serve under an authoritarian regime and genuine IRGC members who aligned with and supported the organization is essential.
At a time when IRGC supporters are openly active in our communities, we must not allow inflated numbers achieved by targeting former conscripts to create a false impression of progress in combating terrorism.
Transparent screening criteria are essential to both fairness and national security. They reassure innocent families that Canada remains committed to human rights while helping ensure genuine threats are identified, and those responsible are not overlooked.
Special thanks to @CPC_HQ for openly supporting this cause and calling for accountability. Real accountability means identifying the perpetrators—not counting the victims.

He is too young to understand words like "inadmissible" or "background check," but he is old enough to stand in the cold outside IRCC holding a sign for his family. This child was born in Canada, and Canada is the only home he knows, yet his parents are living in fear and limbo because of military service they were forced into in Iran. Canada promised case-by-case review, but families like his are getting blanket decisions instead. No child should have to carry the weight of a policy without clear guidelines. Keep your promise, protect these families, and stop refusing conscripts. @CitImmCanada @CanBorder

At this time of year, a five-year-old child should be excitedly choosing a Halloween costume—not standing for hours in the cold outside an IRCC office, desperately asking for a meeting so their family’s voice can be heard.
Instead of enjoying the magic of childhood, our children are being forced to experience the fear and uncertainty of a future at risk because of a legal gap they had no part in creating.
Is this how Canada intends to protect national security—by putting innocent children and their families through such devastating hardship, threatening their present and their future?
These children deserve safety, stability, and the chance to simply be children. Our families deserve to be heard. All we are asking for is a meeting and a fair opportunity for our voices to reach those who can make a difference.

Hey Mark,
I don't see your name on the Eurovision list.
Can we vote to send you?
Your EU membership audition just got downgraded to a talent show.
You're all fantasy and all rhetoric. And no results.
You're proving to be just another Liberal Prime Minister.
Canada is going to Eurovision 2027. It’s up to you to decide who takes the stage.
Cast your vote by November 5.

📢 September 22 Press Conference | The Talent Canada Risks Losing
At our September 22 press conference on Parliament Hill, Dr. Golbarg Talebian—a physician, mother, and affected family member—shared her story and highlighted a broader reality:
Canada risks losing the very talent it actively selected and welcomed.
Among the families affected are physicians, engineers, researchers, professors, PhDs, master’s graduates, entrepreneurs, and highly skilled professionals who came to Canada to work, contribute, raise their children, and build their futures.
Dr. Talebian herself was selected through Ontario’s Express Entry stream and has spent years contributing to healthcare in Canada. Yet her family’s future is now uncertain because of her husband’s compulsory conscription.
These families are not asking Canada to compromise national security. They are asking Canada to distinguish voluntary affiliation from compulsory conscription.
“No one should be punished for compulsory conscription—not the person who was forced to serve, not their spouse, and not their children.”
Canada should not lose skilled professionals and their families over service they never chose.
