India saw about 496 million people lifted out of poverty between 2011 and 2023 in one of the world’s fastest declines in this metric, the World Bank said, although the gains remain uneven. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

I have a new appreciation for NYC after my recent trip. It’s changed a lot since I was a kid. Every corner of Manhattan is generally safe, very different from 35 years ago. Cashless prob helps.
It’s also the last remaining retail abundant city in the US. Storefronts that sell real hard goods. Go to LA or SF and it’s all rich people services (nail salons, botox), overpriced food (froyo, macaroons) or showrooms of things that are not there (Tesla, mattresses). NYC makes walking the streets so much more enjoyable with real shops with real people.
Lastly, the “vibe” of NYC is unmatched anywhere in the world. Walk the streets and you feel the pulse, like you’re a part of something bigger. People are generally courteous and self aware of the flow, especially on the subway. It looks chaotic from above but it is a well functioning society of competent humans thriving to reach their potential. It might sound cheesy, but that makes me proud as an American.

Sonnet 116. Patrick's favourite. Take one minute out of your day to hear the bard's words spoken by someone who lived by them.

Very few actors have had as much impact on my childhood as Sir Patrick Stewart. His portrayal of Picard and later Professor X has always been a north star for me and millions of others on noble leadership.
I'm very sad today. We have lost an icon.

We’re betting our $5.5M seed round that the next leap in AI coding won’t come from OpenAI or Anthropic.
It’ll come from a new feedback loop that learns from you.
Introducing Beacon: open-source, self-improving memory for coding agents.
Your sessions capture how you debug and solve problems. Today, that context gets lost and you have to re-explain things every time you switch tools.
Beacon continuously distills your sessions into reusable skills across Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and 20+ harnesses, so your next agent can learn from the last.
Beacon is free and OSS 🌟 github.com/Asymptote-Labs/ag…
Why should the frontier labs be the only ones winning with your sessions?
You already did the work. Now let your coding agents learn from you.

Today, our team is excited to announce @InspiredCap Fund IV, $450M in new capital to back early-stage founders.
There has never been a moment in history when more is possible. It takes just one person with exceptional ambition to take on the world’s problems and change billions of lives for the better.

I’ve spent a few days thinking about the Tesla Roadster reveal and landed somewhere I haven’t seen much discussion. I’m neither a Tesla fanboy nor a Tesla hater. And I couldn’t care less whether what we saw technically qualifies as a flying car. Three takeaways: (1) The risk of that live demonstration going horribly wrong was real. Almost no CEO would willingly expose their company to that kind of public humiliation for a product with so little financial upside. Elon did. (2) That willingness to attempt the seemingly impossible is what makes Tesla special. It’s also arguably Elon’s greatest contribution to America. He’s helped bring back something we’ve lost. The American spirit of chasing big scary ideas that most people think are impossible. That mindset is spreading across a new generation of founders and its long term impact on America’s future could dwarf anything Tesla ever sells. I think this is deeply underappreciated. (3) Can we just acknowledge how insanely cool that moment was? We’ve reached a strange place culturally where even extraordinary feats of human ingenuity immediately become arguments about why they don’t count. Not everything needs to be a debate. Sometimes we should just be able to stand back together and marvel at what humans are capable of. I’ve been both bullish and critical of Tesla’s ambitions over the years. But watching Elon and his team push the boundaries of what’s possible reminds me why I’m glad we have him. Whether the Roadster ever makes Tesla a dollar or impacts $TSLA stock price is almost beside the point. We need more people willing to risk failure in pursuit of things the rest of us think are impossible. Because when they succeed we all win.

Fragment is automating commerce.
We think there are millions of businesses that haven't been invented yet. Not because folks lack imagination, but because it's too hard to build the financial systems that run them. Fragment removes that constraint.
Today, people run companies. With Fragment, they'll run on their own.
