Ralph Nader helped destroy the New Deal Coalition, just saying
It’s time to bring Ralph Nader and ALL his ideas back into the fold.

Instead of getting a little sticker after you voted, you should get a QR code that you could somehow enter into your TV and it would no longer display political ads.

This is the damage Ramaswamy and the operatives who enabled this awful tactic have done. But, hey, “it’s just politics” right? As Joseph Welch famously said at the McCarthy hearings: “Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?”
Amy Acton's stepfather's surviving biological daughter spoke to The Daily Mail when they knocked on her door in Ohio, while sobbing.
She said: She believed Amy's story, because her father raped her sister more than once (the victim in this 1974 indictment); she remembered Amy lived in a tent with Donna and Cledith; it's been terrible for her family to see Vivek's ad run in Ohio; and she heard rumors her father had victimized even more young girls.

an office of swing voters in the WH is a good idea
Ezra Klein's recent interview with Sarah Longwell points to one of my hobby horses 👇
Presidents get elected by low-information normie swing voters, but then create all these public liaison offices within the White House to tend to their base constituencies.
A smart President would create an Office of Swing Voters within the WH.

It’s worth noting that Acton is estranged from her mother because she married a pedophile that molested her and then sided with that pedophile in court.
Calling Ramaswamy a scumbag doesn’t go far enough.
Last week, I wrote about how the notorious conman Vivek Ramaswamy had co-opted Dr. Amy Acton's estranged mother for his "October surprise."
Here's the ad in full. Nasty stuff from Ms. Arthur.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Acton's mother lost custody of her children after years of documented issues, including time spent living in a tent and a spouse who sexually abused her daughter Amy (Acton). Amy Acton's brother has also confirmed this story.

Having a rape victim swatted before the trial should be considered witness tempering and being logged as evidence against the rapists.

I don’t think people fully grasp how much truly evil shit that affects so many of the most vulnerable people in this country could be blocked if Texas had a Dem governor.
I get that the DGA is cash-strapped, but dumping 3.25x more money into Oregon than Texas is indefensible.

The “Israeli side” in this story is a group called Israelis for Peace that counter-protested the Israel Day Parade and describes Gaza as a genocide.
I’m sorry, THIS is who you’re mad at?
RIGHT NOW: Zohran Mamdani stands on the Israeli side of an October 7 vigil while Palestinian organizers and supporters of Palestinian liberation directly protest him.
Another politician at the vigil is Brad Lander, who increased NYC pension holdings in Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer, as their weapons were used to annihilate Palestinians at the height of the Gaza genocide.
Meanwhile, students across NYC are walking out of classrooms demanding an end to the city’s complicity in Israel’s genocide of Palestinians.
Mamdani campaigned on solidarity with Palestine. Now the movement is confronting him over the gap between that solidarity and his political decisions. This is not a hypothetical contradiction or a disagreement over rhetoric. It is a confrontation over where political power is being exercised, whose demands are being accommodated, and whose are being dismissed.
Solidarity is measured by what you do with power, not what you say to obtain it.

HOT TAKE: nobody in 1975 needed a budgeting app, a financial coach, three side hustles, and a finance influencer explaining the "latte factor" just to afford a two bedroom apartment.
A single income, often a single average income, covered rent, a car, and still left room to save.
Now we're told the problem is that we don't meal prep enough, or we buy too much iced coffee, or we haven't "automated our savings" correctly.
Nobody explains why rent has outpaced wage growth for 40 straight years. Nobody explains why a worker today needs almost twice the hours at minimum wage to afford the same apartment their grandparents rented on one paycheck.
This isn't a personal finance problem. You can't budget your way out of a wage that hasn't kept up with the cost of staying alive.
It's not a discipline problem. It's not a mindset problem. It's not a "sacrifice more lattes" problem.
It's a wage theft problem, dressed up as a self-improvement industry so nobody has to ask why the paycheck stopped being enough.

i'm pretty confident democrats obliterate republicans in 2026 and win comfortably in 2028 off of a historically unpopular presidency. but the question of whether american voters learn.. i'm not confident on. americans chose a literal insurrectionist despite a decent economy. we won't have trump again, so if the lesson learned from this disastrous presidency is "trump bad" instead of "populist authoritarians who openly fantasize about destroying democracy bad", then i worry for the republic

🚨 At the U20 Mayors Summit, Mamdani Says the Left Has Ceded “Quality of Life,” “Efficiency,” and “Fraud and Waste” to the Right
This was one of the more interesting arguments Zohran Mamdani made today at the U20 Mayors Summit, and a reminder that he can be genuinely sharp when he drops the “central casting” routine.
“In New York City, there are certain words that have taken on ideological associations.”
“Quality of life has come to be seen as somehow a right-wing concern. Efficiency… has been taken on as a right-wing concern, rooting out fraud and waste, a right-wing concern.”
Mamdani’s argument is that refusing to engage those issues actually helps the Right.
“If you are staring at an example of social disorder or social inefficiency, and the left refuses to explain either why it has happened or how they will fix it, then the right gets to point at someone in the immediate area and say, ‘That’s who did it.’”
The harder question is how much of the broader Left is actually prepared to follow the advice.

This is my own personal black man rant. I'm sick foreigners (I'm not using immigrant for this rant) coming to America and looking down on Black Americans. I'm tired of them criticizing blacks. I'm tired of them thinking they're better than us. I'm sick of the arrogance.
I gotta add this disclaimer. Not all act in this manner. Yet, it's a part of who many of them are.
Many of these people come to America with preset thoughts about Black Americans. They've called us lazy, untrustworthy and uneducated.
I saw a Somalian leader go as far as to say, "American Blacks are a result of one night stands and don't even know who their fathers are."
Black Africans come here with the thought that they are better than Black Americans (arrogant).
Hispanics and Asians also show great disdain for Black Americans. Facts are just facts.
Yet, none of these people have experienced life as a Black American. They've been fed propaganda about blacks and they believe it.
They're told to stay away from the blacks. You don't want to be treated like a black. Don't yiu bring a black person to my house.
Yet, the only reason any of these foreigners (immigrants) enjoy any type of existence in America is because of the blood, sweat, anguish, pain and dedicated relentless pursuit of Civil and Equal Rights of Black Americans.
Learn some America History.
Without us, you don't exist here in America.
Put some respect (respeck) on our name!!!
These are just my sentiments.
