no more gaslighting from former libs who made their bargain with the devil. there is only one relevant "authoritarian" political faction in america. it is the DSA. if you are supporting or enabling the DSA, you are an authoritarian.

As a gay man, one of the biggest frustrations I have with modern LGBTQIA+ activism is that it insists on speaking for all of us.
It doesn’t.
There are millions of gay people who simply want to live normal lives, build careers, get married, have families, and be judged by the same standards as everyone else.
Instead, every major corporation, activist organization, and media outlet elevates the loudest, most ideological voices and presents them as if they represent the entire community.
They don’t represent me.
I don’t believe biological sex is meaningless.
I don’t believe children should be at the center of culture war battles.
I don’t believe every institution has to revolve around identity politics.
Most importantly, I don’t believe disagreeing with activists makes someone anti-gay.
The greatest victories for gay Americans came from convincing the public that we deserved equal treatment under the law, not that society had to redefine reality to accommodate every new ideological demand.
When activism becomes untethered from common sense, it stops building support and starts burning it.
That’s exactly what we’re watching happen.

Thank you to @nytimes for yesterday’s piece on Dazzle (@itsdazzleai) and for recognizing our team’s hard work. While it’s still early days, the user engagement and response so far have been terrific.
I wanted to share more context behind one anecdote in the article—my daughter Marielle’s birthday slide.
To be clear, I didn’t use Dazzle because I was overwhelmed by making a slide. I used it because summing up your child in a few bullets feels laughably limiting. And, since our team had just gotten an early prototype running, I wanted to see what deeper threads it might find.
So, when Marielle and her twin sister Sylvana’s 4th-grade teachers emailed asking for a slide celebrating each girl for their December 10th birthday, I pasted the email into Dazzle to test its limits. I fully expected it to struggle, since most facial recognition can’t even tell my identical twins apart.
Instead, Dazzle blew me away. Not only did it distinguish Marielle from Sylvana, it surfaced forgotten kindergarten projects (like the “snake denomizer” and the “sandcat playground”) and connected them to who Marielle is today. I combined Dazzle’s insights with a few of my own and showed the slide to @zackbogue. He was floored and asked how I remembered those details. I fessed up that the Dazzle prototype had found them, and we both marveled at what AI can unlock from our camera rolls.
(Pictures attached of Dazzle’s response, plus the slide I made with its insights and my own.)
The foundational paper on transformers is titled “Attention Is All You Need.” What makes photos + AI so powerful is that our camera rolls are a decades-long record of what we pay attention to. By analyzing that visual history, an AI agent can connect dots we didn’t even realize we were documenting.
A birthday slide isn’t a common case, but here are a few that have stunned Dazzle users recently:
- Personalized learning: Dazzle offered custom spelling lists and grammar concepts based on photos of a child’s schoolwork.
- Home inventory: Given a book club reading list, Dazzle found a book the user already had and noted two others by the same authors, entirely from the backgrounds of their photos.
- Design intuition: Dazzle noticed a new sofa in a user’s living room photo and recommended artwork to hang above it.
- Wardrobe suggestions: For an esoteric costume party, Dazzle recommended what the user already had in their closet and could wear, based on the clothes in their past pictures.
We take 5 billion photos a day, often wondering if we’ll ever look at them again. Now, AI can turn those snapshots into deep, personal context.

In-house autonomous legal beats AI law firms, because it can connect much deeper into the connective tissue of a company: Finance systems, HR systems, and beyond.

I've noticed that I never see people say "that money could have been used to feed people" whenever Disney spends half a billion dollars on a Marvel movie.

VC investors have enabled the AI industry to bastardize revenue reporting.
In the 2010s, SaaS companies popularized reporting the metric of Annual Run Rate because it was a reliable measure of long term, contractual revenues into the future. The key is that the revenues are contracted and guaranteed thru the contract life hence why forecasting it forward is appropriate.
VCs have taken this to mean Annualized Run Rate when AI is concerned and where you take transactional/API revenue from the last month (or even last week in some cases) and forecast it forward.
It’s insane that investors have enabled this to happen but it’s happened.

If you’re raising capital and meet with a VC who does not proactively follow up after the meeting, you may be wondering what their level of interest is. There’s no need to wonder: they are not interested.

About pro rata:
We often write the first check. Before friends and family.
We’re there when there’s no product, no traction, and sometimes no company.
We roll up our sleeves when things get hard. We bridge companies when nobody else will.
So when things finally start working, why should we step aside and give up our ownership to bigger funds?
We took the risk when nobody else would. Why should we give up the upside when everyone else wants in?

That’s why we built Dazzle, an AI assistant that turns your camera button into a "get it done" button. No blank prompts, just instant context and action. 🚀
