Thinking about stuff that's inflecting, here's my rough bridge on what $MLCI is doing to fix their "FRE", with SOFIX closed this quarter, ACIF merger approved, and Nichol ramping up. $12m run rate vs $5m implied on their last three reports...

The @NorburyCapital fund was up +1.8% (trailing the index which was +2.4%). 10.8% ytd. Since inception over 2 years ago we're up +51.5% (well ahead of the index at +24.5%). Below another update on $TNIE $TNIE.DE Tonies. We still like it!

$TNIE $TNIE.DE Tonies posted very strong results this AM. 49% cc growth, with North-America being exceptionally strong. A lot of growth driven by tonieboxes which bodes well for future revenue growth. EBITDA as expected flattish. Guidance is basically more than in the bag at this point (expect ~30% rev growth this year). Again - this stock is too cheap imo.
1) $TNIE $TNIE.DE Tonies reports results tmrw. We're long and think growth will be very strong (>35% revenue growth in 2Q) , LT fundamental prospects great. Near-term we think the setup is even more interesting given the 1.5% short of LMR partners. This is most likely a delta hedge against a long in the SPAC warrants.

I’ve always felt that shares outstanding in microcaps tells you about the soul of Mgmt. So I instantly connected with @bmb21 when he made a similar comment pitching $AMNF at @MSmicrocaps summer virtual: “Share count tells you how Mgmt. feels about the sanctity of the shares.”

Phenomenal results and company.. EBITDA has grown at a 35%+ CAGR over the last 5 years. Real IP, great technical expertise and a leadership geared toward generating long-term shareholder value. It's very rare to find that all wrapped into a micro-cap company… much less one that trades under 10x EV / NI. Quarterly results will be choppy. Currently a top 5 holding.
I'm excited to profile a large holding on the sub tomorrow morning. This company checks all the boxes I look for in an investment: / Illiquid. Under-followed. Significant float is held by management. Sales cycle lags the demonstrated forward momentum of the industry. / A long-term investment that has significant tailwinds I think will continue for a long time. If this were a private opportunity, I would lock-up my investment over the next decade at current prices. / Net cash, capital light company that should be able to fund itself through internal cash generation. / A reasonable valuation much lower than peers. Organic growth that should see a double of the top/bottom line over the next 3-5 years.

Sunday Weekly Wrap-Up Excerpt: Last week, we held our monthly Open Forum, where we delved into the hot topic of the last two weeks: what to make of software stocks getting pummeled because of advancements in AI. We took a quick, cursory glance at four buckets investors should consider to understand where the risk is and where the opportunity lies. On that note, we dug deep into our 1,500+ microcap stock archives to resurface an old Geoinvesting software MultiBagger that we think actually benefits from what’s going on with AI and fits squarely in between the third and fourth buckets we discussed. It’s a software stock selling at a P/E of 5x that just grew EPS over 50%, where industry changes should strengthen its already leading position in its market. We think it has reached a point where the discussion of the stock being positioned to have MultiBagger status again can begin… after three years of doing nothing.  By the way, If you’re into following this topic, you’re also going to enjoy a conversation I had with Ben Brostoff (@bmb21), author of the StockTalk Newsletter Substack. His software background and the insights from our conversation are going to help us become more informed investors on this topic. The discussion addressed how changes in software pricing, usage-based models, and automation may affect long-term margins and competitive positioning. The chat about software stocks during the open forum naturally transitioned into a discussion about another stock we’re tracking that might ironically also benefit from the impact AI is having on the software industry. It’s actually a debt restructuring play. We’re waiting for a catalyst to materialize that should immediately re-rate the stock 50% to 100% if it occurs. We were extremely appreciative that John Cormier accepted our invitation to attend the open forum to help us break down the story that our new Analyst, Diego La Torre (@Diego_La_Torre_), had already analyzed. John has years of investment experience, especially in dealing with complex special situations. That’s why John’s positive assessment of the set-up strengthened our comfort level with this new idea. I originally connected with John via an introduction from Mark Gomes ( @MoneyMarkStocks ). The bullish thesis on both of these stocks has been published on Geoinvesting geoinvesting.com/two-stocks-…

For the culture.
For the swimming fans out there - @swimswamnews ran one of my favorite excerpts from Trials this week swimswam.com/book-excerpt-tr… . "Get Out" swims were a staple of my swimming days and nothing like having the fate of a practice depend on one person.

My son and all our neighborhood kids know all the celebrations, but this is what dads/coaches everywhere should be showing tonight on the highlight reel. Pure hustle. Never give up on a play 🫡💯🔥
The difference is the relentless effort you decide to give for your team.

During my first buy-side HF analyst job out of college, I pitched Nvidia. It worked. The stock doubled and became my first big winner. Twenty-five years later, I wrote THE NVIDIA WAY, the first definitive business history book on Nvidia. I told Jensen Huang the story and he said, "Good for you. Nvidia is my first big winner too."

Closed End Fund investors, The NYSE and CBOE want the @SECGov to let closed-end funds skip annual shareholder meetings. That means no director elections and no accountability. This proposal is clearly a step backward for investor rights. If shareholders lose their vote, they lose their voice. I encourage you to submit a comment at the link below to share your disapproval. It can be completed in less than a minute. My submitted comment is attached sec.gov/comments/sr-nyse-202… #ClosedEndFunds #CorporateGovernance #ShareholderRights @boazweinstein
