sexism being different from misogyny oh my god yall actually think men are oppressed
Replying to @cntyvrgo
I would argue homophobia is rooted in sexism, not misoginy.
Someone who dislikes gays, dislike them cause they don't conform to core gender expectations for a guy like feeling attraction to women.
i feel the reason non-black (namely white) people think that racism towards us can just be brushed off and simply forgiven is because they don't at all recognize that racism is a DEEP form of abuse that heavily impacts our psyche and causes trauma. it's deeper than bullying and

It's so crazy how all we're telling people to do is NOT compare tragedies, because the history of being black is longer and more brutal than LGBT history, but white people HATE being told what to do

Im gay Im pretty sure I know gay people are being oppressed.
However you mfs always sound like this when we call out your antiblackness:

i also think its interesting that one of the main arguments used to compare homophobia to racism is that homosexuality is illegal in certain countries
when not too long ago black people were being traded by countries worldwide like property. then beaten, raped, mutilated, eaten

Idk how many times I gotta tell moronic monosexuals this (mind you, even trans people and monosexual gay people are agreeing with me), but hiding is obviously not a privilege and being EXPOSED is a deathly risk, but the fact that you CAN hide is the point

White queers always bring up Africa in their arguments as if they truly know what it’s like to be black or queer in those countries. Yeah African countries are super homophobic! But the people that experience that are BLACK African queers!! Not you guys!!

As someone who was called a girl in the first grade yall are right some aspects of queerness are not easy or possible to hide. It’s still very reductive for yall to allow white queer people to come on here and make comparisons between queerness and anti blackness.

the audacity that u craqueers have is astonishing, it rlly is. do u think mixed kids w racist wypipo in their families rnt constantly disowned for not being “fully” yt ????

Ppl are disagreeing with this but somehow are ignoring the fact that they never said there isn’t violence that comes from hiding your queerness or that it’s easy but it’s very much possible but you can’t hide being black AT ALL

The entire "racism is the same as homophobia" argument fails once you realize that not even white queers are able to argue it without relating back to their own queerness. They can't touch the racial aspect because their queerness isn't enough to understand it.

this “racism vs homophobia” conversation has revealed that craqueers *also* understand the concept of intersectionality. they know it good & well, but only utilize such when it benefits them. this is the weaponization of terminology coined by a BLACK woman in real time

Nobody said hiding doesn’t kill. The reason doesn’t people have died is either due to them being caught or they got exposed (or some dickhead assumed and got them killed). The point is that you cant hide your race like you can hide your queerness

That and statistically, Black people suffer higher forms of violence and death for identifying as either, something that white queers conveniently leave out of the conversation.
