A small detail.. if you hold it up to any wallpaper of your choice, the underlying wallpaper imprints into the card.. wanted to make this feel true to the material. It’s also compatible with iOS theming.. the card soaks in the theme colors on your device, so it always feels at home

Now they just need some AVS 😂
NEWS: The Nevada Transportation Authority has issued @Uber subsidiary Aviari Services, LLC its Autonomous Vehicle Network Company permit, dated October 22, 2026.
The permit allows Uber to connect passengers with fully autonomous vehicles for paid rides in Nevada. It caps Aviari at 1,000 fully autonomous vehicles in total during the first 12 months.
Operations are limited to the area approved in the NTA's September 22 Compliance Order, and any geofence change needs written notice to the NTA first.
Uber joins Zoox, Tesla, and Waymo with an AVNC in Nevada.

Another thing. Often AV service area maps advertised are kind of fake- they don’t actually go to everywhere in the polygon the provider publishes. Robotaxi Houston is probably by far the most egregious ‘fake’ AV service area I’ve seen
I get they were doing it so they could get the starship shape but again this is another poor experience point

Santa Monica may let @zoox park up to 150 robotaxis in city lots.
On Oct 13, the city council voted 6-0 to let staff negotiate a pilot license with Zoox for up to a year, with Metropolis running the parking. Staff are looking first at level B1 of the Main Library garage. Charging will be at a separate site.

Surprise: An anti-Waymo astroturf group sounds like it is quite obviously a front for Uber, with whom it shares "public affairs" consultants in New York and Pennsylvania. washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/…

SF voters on robotaxis:
Sept 2023: 44% support, 51% oppose
July 2025: 67% support, 29% oppose
What changed? People rode them.
Robotaxi opposition peaks before anyone has ridden. D.C., New York and Massachusetts are deciding at peak fear and minimum experience.

Did they have to pick the most communist name possible lol?
Uber is so fucking shady.
The so called “People’s First Transportation Alliance” is actually funded by Uber. A more accurate name would have been the Uber First Transportation Alliance.
They are hiding the fact that they’re funding this anti-autonomy group, and listed a bunch of “founding members” of the group that had no clue their names were being used!
They just organized a protest against a bill that would bring autonomous driving to DC in 2028, demanding human drivers be required well past then. DC is such a critical city for autonomy, because we need congress to be able to try the technology for themselves. The fact that they can’t is holding federal autonomy legislation back.
Fuck Uber and everyone involved in this group. They want people to die so they can make money continuing to exploit their drivers.

Makes sense. A lot of people are initially skeptical of AVs but change their tune after their first ride.

The Mayor's Office has denied @washingtonsun's appeal for DDOT data showing how many times AVs have crashed while testing here.
The good news is that @Waymo gave us the data D.C. won't, and @CMCharlesAllen said his bill would require public reporting.

DC is facing a jobs crisis.
Rushing the legalization of autonomous vehicles is irresponsible given the anticipated AI-related job displacement and disruptions that put countless workers at risk.

So look at what I found. This is how Tesla charges unsupervised robotaxis at a public supercharger. Here is a driverless Cybercab showing up with no one in it. There are 9 other Model Ys that showed up too. A Tesla employee is walking around and plugging each of them in. She also moves the cars if they are not positioned well enough to charge. I love this process. One person charges multiple robotaxis at once

For a smart guy, Elon can be incredibly stupid. His Robotaxis don’t run at night because he took LiDAR and ultrasound out of his cars, and cameras can’t see very well in the dark. 11pm curfew.
