(Sebastian Duma / FB)

Q: If the administration has declared war on waste and fraud, can you explain the $420 million overpayment for a prison in Appleton, Minnesota, when the company offered it to the state of Minnesota for $75 million? BESSENT: That question is a waste of time.

🚨BREAKING: The Republican Women’s Caucus Fund has been unmasked as the force behind the fake Texas Transgender Student Union (TTSU). This Wyoming LLC, formed in September, flooded as many as 3 million Texas mailboxes and phones with texts and brochures just as early voting began for the midterms. Posing as a trans advocacy outfit, the materials—addressed to the children of registered voters—coached minors on seeking gender-affirming care even against parents’ wishes, pursuing emancipation, going out-of-state for hormones or surgery, and finding a “found family.” They copied branding from the real Transgender Education Network of Texas (TENT) and used a near-identical address. Legal filings named the Republican Women’s Caucus and “John Braun”—the name of a Washington state senator whose campaign treasurer, Paul Kilgore, also handles finances for the RWC Fund and PACs supporting Ken Paxton’s Senate bid against Democrat James Talarico. TTSU’s lawyer is former Paxton assistant AG Chris Hilton. TENT sued, claiming harassment, threats, and operational harm. Judge Jan Soifer ordered disclosure, rejecting free-speech secrecy claims. So, a Republican-linked group, with financial ties to Paxton-supporting PACs, mass-produced and distributed materials that impersonated a transgender student resource guide. In other words, the people who routinely accuse the transgender community of “indoctrinating” or targeting children, themselves produced and mailed the very content designed to look like that targeting—so parents would see it and react. Every Republican accusation is a confession.

Court martial Hegseth!! "Okay, here’s where we’re at. We’ve got a gigantic flotilla of combat ships over in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Iran, blockading Iranian ports to keep Iran from shipping oil through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump recently reinforced the flotilla with a third carrier group involving the USS Theodore Roosevelt, accompanied by an amphibious strike group including 2,000 Marines on the USS Malkin Island. The U.S. already had 50,000 troops in the region. Back in Washington D.C., Trump somehow managed to find the time to get off his Qatari flying palace Air Force One to take a briefing in the White House from Chief Pentagon Poohbah Pete Hegseth and CENTCOM commander Admiral Brad Cooper, who has been in charge of Trump’s disastrous war on Iran, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine. You can guess what they talked about: plans to attack Iran right after the midterm voting next week. Missing from the briefing was Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia, Director for Strategy, Plans and Policy, the Pentagon’s highest ranking war strategist and planner. Where was Brett? Well, 24 hours before the big war planning briefing at the White House, Hegseth fired him without cause. The firing of General Sylvia was a head-scratcher until today, when news of the Iran war planning meeting leaked, along with extra news about General Sylvia – that Hegseth had fired him for leaking classified information to the press. But that’s not all. Late this afternoon, the White House leaked to two of its pet reporters at Axios that General Sylvia had admitted leaking secrets to the press. Then it was revealed that the case against Sylvia has been referred to the Department of Justice for investigation and prosecution. Generals and other officers in the military who are suspected of committing a crime are normally investigated by the Civil Investigative Division and are subject to court martial under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Hegseth obviously does not trust that a court martial of General Sylvia within the military system, where he would be tried by a jury of his peers, would find him guilty. Trump wants his lap poodle at the DOJ, Todd Blanche, to handle railroading General Sylvia. Caught in the middle of this Hegseth clusterfuck was Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Caine, whose office yesterday issued a statement thanking General Sylvia for his 32 years of service. “We wish him and his family the best as they graduate to new opportunities and the next chapters of their lives,” the statement from Caine’s office said. In his job as head of Pentagon planning, General Sylvia had reported directly to General Caine. By early this morning, Caine’s office had formally retracted its statement of thanks to General Sylvia. His biography has been removed from the Pentagon website of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. General Sylvia was appointed to his Pentagon job by former Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. General Sylvia, by the way, has made no such admissions of leaking classified information to reporters or anyone else. As usual, the left hand in Hegseth’s Pentagon doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. Four-star generals don’t usually thank someone for their service and then retract the statement and erase them from Pentagon records within 12 hours." The wheels are coming off Hegseth’s F-ed up Pentagon just in time for new Iran bombing, by @LucianKTruscott luciantruscott.substack.com/…

JD Vance is like the opposite of Pete Buttigieg. Back when Pete was Mayor, a doctor recalled how Pete appeared out of nowhere and served as a translator for a family in the ER:
JD Vance whines about translators in hospitals and says, "how about if everyone just spoke English?"

These motherfuckers didn’t just screw over a Pope with cancer. The whole Oleshky story is a Putin information operation designed to save that old orange ass from electoral defeat. Guys, this needs to become an atomic bomb for the bastards in the White House. If you haven’t written about it yet, share this post. As many people as possible need to know this story. What I had previously only suspected on instinct has now been confirmed. It turns out that the absurd “Melania Trump ceasefire” in Oleshky was literally Putin’s idea. He personally “very much wanted” Melania to act as mediator, her senior adviser Mark Beckman told the Kyiv Independent. Well, you could have guessed that, and I did immediately. A person who can barely string two words together was hardly going to organize something like this better than the Pope. More than that, Putin sent her a special letter saying that Russia officially recognized Melania as its “exclusive intermediary.” Do you understand what that means? Russia has occupied Oleshky for four and a half years, blocked the city, prevented humanitarian aid from getting in, and driven the remaining residents into an acute shortage of food and medicine. And then Putin picks Trump’s wife as the person who will be allowed to “solve” the problem. And he does it right before the elections, when Trump’s collapsing ratings desperately need saving. Trump, the politician who is now effectively helping Putin force Ukraine into capitulation. The White House has already announced that it was Melania who “secured the ceasefire,” while four journalists from Newsmax, Trump’s pet TV network, have been sent to Oleshky as “neutral observers” to present the entire operation to an American audience in exactly the right light. You can bet your ass they won’t just advertise the orange ape as the greatest humanitarian genius in human history. They’ll advertise Putin right alongside him. John Foreman, the former British defense attaché in Moscow and Kyiv, is calling this exactly what it is: a deliberate Kremlin operation. “They know exactly what they’re doing.” According to him, allowing Melania to take credit for the ceasefire gives Russia a way to present the Trumps to the MAGA audience as peacemakers immediately before the midterms. In other words, Moscow first creates a humanitarian catastrophe, then allows the family of the U.S. president to stage a spectacular “rescue” of that catastrophe in order to save themselves from political disaster. Fuck, I genuinely don’t have enough words to express how unbelievably vile and disgusting this is. I’m choking on the hatred of it. They have turned one of the largest man-made humanitarian catastrophes of the 21st century into a fucking medal pinned to an orange ass.

A Russian bot forgot to switch its account from MAGA to "Ukrainian." 😀 This is how Russians simulate public opinion and pressure politicians into adopting a pro-Russian stance—leading them to believe that this is what their electorate demands. That is why it is important to express your position openly.

Republicans are furious about a "decoy" Dan Sullivan on Alaska's ballot. Fair enough. Now do Miami, 2020. A GOP operative paid a guy named Rodriguez to run against a Democrat named Rodriguez. The Republican won by 32 votes. The operative got convicted. The Republican kept the seat. Nobody at DOJ sued to block that one.
