A two state solution for Maldives.
Right out of Zio textbook.
One for Zio’s, another for Maldivians. Eventually there’d be only one state.
The Settler state of Maldives.

The president does not own our heritage.
He is duty bound by law to protect the people of this country.
He has no right to operate outside the laws designed to protect our trees, which protect us. Our natural heritage belongs to present & future generations.

So @MMuizzu takes a show of hands from a few people at a meeting in Vilimalé, and suddenly that's the law????
Police are telling residents MCC gave permission. We didn't. Police cordened the area, people in civilian clothes showed up to cut the tree, and now we're left asking who authorised any of this. We've asked our departments and no such document has been given.
And who are we supposed to report the police to? The police?
This is state sponsored environmental destruction nothing less..
To @ekkomv who climbed that tree to stop them, you have my utmost respect. That's what actually standing up for your city looks like!

It's v problematic that @PoliceMv is spreading inaccurate info to the public.
Given this behavior, it looks like MPS is complicit with unidentified men cutting down a protected tree in Villimale without obtaining proper documents and permits.
This is a police integrity issue!!

Villimale' Nikagas cut is just another diversion to distract from the Rasmale’ signing on 11 Nov. We need to make a stand. Gather on 6 Nov 2026 and show the government we are against it. #EmmengeEhvvun #RasmaleOut #StopMVEcocide
The Maldives state continues to destroy what little nature remains on our islands. Right now, the last remaining forest in Villingili is being cut down. This is an irreversible loss of biodiversity, heritage & public space. @GretaThunberg @AURORAmusic @LicypriyaK

Are these @WAMCOmv employees in plain clothes, cutting down a protected tree in Villimale without any due process or authorisation from relevant institutions including @MaleCitymv ?
And why is @PoliceMv facilitating this?
Is @PoliceMV aiding and abetting a criminal enterprise?

So those involved in cutting down this tree are not in any uniform and some of the vehicles being used at the scene do not even have number plates!!
Wow - this truly is a hit job on a tree!!
And @PoliceMv are facilitating this?
