Usually, I don’t reply to people who use abusive language or who don’t speak politely, Ganesha. Even though you used quite harsh words, you made a logical point, so I’m replying.
Let’s stick to your point. The objection is: a guy who forcibly kisses a girl, and then when someone is trying to strip that same girl, him protecting her.. what kind of protection is that? But isn’t that a flaw in the way the hero’s character is written and in the story itself? The problem is in designing the hero’s character that way, right? What lifelong stain does Janhvi have to carry because of this?
If sexual assault on the heroine, or the hero forcibly kissing her, is a problem, then we should criticize the thousands of movies that have hero-chasing-heroine scenes. We should oppose every movie that has stalking, sexual assault, or rape scenes. Likewise, even scenes where the heroine chases the hero should be considered wrong. Then why is everyone only targeting this one movie, Peddi?
Janhvi and Karan’s objection is not just about the scene you mentioned.. it’s also about the way she was shown. Janhvi also spoke about camera angles and the objectification of women. The question is: aren’t all those things present in the other movies she has acted in, and in the rest of Bollywood movies too?
I agree that in Peddi, both the hero and heroine characters were not properly written, and the way the heroine’s character was presented was not good. I’m not defending that. But why is only this one movie being singled out and criticized so heavily? Was Janhvi’s character in Devara that great? How was the heroine character presented in the recent Paradise? And what about Bollywood movies? My objection is precisely this, acting as if a great crime has been committed only in Peddi, while ignoring all the others.
bro how are you guys so FUCKING STUPID.
there’s a difference between portraying someone as sexy and sexually assaulting them.
the scene you put the character is clearly doing the action herself by her choice. that’s completely okay.
in Peddi she enters into the scene as an influential figure, gets gazed at by the hero character, gets assaulted by the hero, gets publicly assaulted again only for the hero to come save her, and then the hero justifies his assault saying that’s the only way he knows how to love someone.
Janavi Kapoor clearly said it was also her fault for portraying that role, all we as an industry have to do is own up.
just because someone is showing their body doesn’t mean it’s regressive, what makes it regressive is the intention behind it.
Meanwhile yellow 360 reviews on

Not just these. There are tons more instances where these bottom feeders’ judgments utterly failed. This guy and Barbell are both extremely poor at understanding films.
On top of that, he has a documented public history of allegedly posting reviews without even watching the films.
Always negative Barbell thrives on negativity, which does more harm than good to the film industry.
Ironically, some audiences psychologically assume that low ratings automatically mean genuine reviews. 😂
❌ No reviewer can make or break or influence a film (including us).
What actually matters?
Though termed as reviews are individual opinions, Whose early judgments consistently match the eventual market verdict most of the time, and how well they identify what works and doesn’t work in an average film. That’s what makes a credible reviewer.
These always-nitpicking, low-rating guys largely cater to people who don’t even watch films in theaters. That audience finds their negativity relatable.
Even for films like Ranabaali, dealing with the 1878 famine and British atrocities, these guys expect entertainment and a fast-paced narrative. What a WTH moment! 😂
And about their reach…
Some audiences mistake reach for authenticity.
X’s & YT recommendation algorithm is open-source, not guesswork. It amplify individuals not websites on their platforms.. but reach has nothing to do with the quality of their judgment.
Consistently giving low ratings to attract eyeballs can be another engagement tactic. Nothing inherently wrong with that, as long as audiences can see through it.
Negativity isn’t honesty. Its proof of poor judgment.
This fellow loves yash and hates TFI more than he loves his family and Bollywood 😂😂

if we can’t even give the daughter of the biggest actress in this history of telugu cinema and indian cinema a decent role then imagine how much worse the poor non nepo and new talented actresses must have to go through to land something decent. especially when working with our stars.

But it applies both side
Negativity was first started by #Ramayana side on #Varanasi
So
Just look at @GemsOfWood’s posts right after the first look of #Varanasi dropped. And this is just ONE handle. Imagine how many more are doing the same. 🤦♂️
Repeated negativity towards Telugu people, Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli deserves to be called out with facts. 🔥
Indian movie lovers, let’s stop giving such handles unnecessary engagement. They exist on every side, so let’s not fall into the same trap.

A team that killed a much-anticipated movie on 27th September 2017 by posting an extremely negative review around 02:00 AM IST, just to get instant attention for its newly formed portal is now lecturing others about ‘Integrity’. Irony.
Doesn't the ‘Evadi business vadidhi’ rule apply to everyone?
The golden era of Telugu Puranic and Hindu Itihasa movies only existed as long as directors like Sri K.V. Reddy garu, H.M. Reddy, K.K. Rao garu, and C.S. Rao were around. They gave due respect to the traditional framework and presented our epics without any heresy.
After them, actor-turned-directors like NTR and filmmakers like Dasari Narayana Rao treated our Puranas and epics like mere mythologies and a joke. They started making "what-if" movies and pushing false propaganda by elevating figures like Ravana, Karna and Duryodhana.
And the saddest part is how heavily NTR and Dasari Narayana Rao's movies influenced modern Telugus into genuinely thinking Karna and Ravana are the greater heroes.
It has reached a point where Karna is portrayed like the Kalki avatar in Kalki 2898 AD, and we get Ravana-glorifying movies from Jr NTR.
What a fall!

#JanhviKapoor On #PEDDI Controversy:
‘IN THE SOUTH, THERE’S VERY RARELY A BOUND SCRIPT... AND VERY RARELY IN THOSE SCRIPTS YOU SEE WHERE THE CAMERA ANGLES ARE...
BUT HAVING SAID THAT... I ALSO NEED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR MY HALF OF IT’
“The reason I was so apprehensive to talk about it was that many people worked hard on that film, and I really didn’t know what to say or if there was anything really to even say because it’s important that I take ownership from my half of…whatever that fiasco was because it weighs heavily on my conscience the sort of negative impact and a narrative like that can have on our society, specific to my gender. I think that shame I will always carry with me. Could have I done more? Could have I been more vigilant? Could have I made a bigger scene? A hundred percent, yes. Was it problematic? Was it extreme objectification? Did it even propagate sexual assault narratively? Yes.
The only thing that I can do is to ensure that it doesn’t happen again. I went through the beats of really beating myself up of ‘I should have been more vigilant. I should have made a bigger scene.’ Again, I don’t like saying this because it sounds like I am shifting blame but you know how it’s like, ‘Yes, whatever the director says, you have to be professional, you have to listen to the director.’ So, I was really navigating how to make things less problematic as best I thought, as and when information was becoming available to me, because in the South, there’s very rarely a bound script, and very rarely in those scripts you see, where the camera angles are but having said that I also need to take responsibility for my half of it. I do come from a place of privilege, I should have taken advantage of that because I am going to get the sh*t for being privilege anyway. So, I might as well may have leveraged it.
I really get so conscious when I speak about this because I don’t want to sound like that I am trying to be the victim here. It was a violating experience in a way. The good thing that came out of all this, is that maybe tomorrow someone else will think twice before they present a lead actress this way.”

Replying to @Telugu360
I don’t know whose singular brain cell you borrowed to write this but it makes no sense.
First, you claimed I never watched the movie and that there was no screening, and you were immediately proven wrong. Now you’re saying I watched it through some public registration process but wasn’t formally invited.
Have a little common sense. If registration were open to the public, thousands of people would have signed up. The invitation literally says “NY Critics Invite.” All you do is make false claims when you clearly have no idea what you’re talking about.
Stop embarrassing yourself and go back to doing bhajana for everyone in your “ecosystem”. It’s kind of sad that you have nothing better to write about than me. Don’t cry this much man it’s not good for your health.
