She said the IMA was unique in bringing together France and the 22 Arab League states through culture, creativity and language. The president of the Arab World Institute (@imarabe), @AClaireLegendre, said @Qatar_Museums offered opportunities to strengthen ties with the institute.
In an interview with #DohaNews during her visit to #Qatar, Legendre said the IMA wanted to build new relationships with Qatar’s museums as it reinvented its institution and collections.
She said the IMA wanted to showcase more art from Gulf countries, which had been absent from its collections for a long time, and to co-produce exhibitions with Qatar’s cultural institutions.
The Arabic language was another key area for cooperation, Legendre said, with the IMA discussing it with the head of @QNLib, @QF and other organisations with expertise and tools that could be expanded internationally.
