As Kenya prepares for another El Niño season, the often-overlooked impact of flooding on mental health and well-being remains a critical concern.
This week, #IamAPHRC shared findings on how extreme weather events affect mental health and well-being among vulnerable populations in Africa, with stakeholders from Nairobi and Kisumu counties in a dissemination and brainstorming workshop.
The participants identified practical, evidence-based, and policy-aligned actions to better integrate mental health into flood preparedness, climate adaptation, and disaster response in vulnerable urban communities.

"As much as we need data, we also need to include the primary users who are often left out of the process. There is a need to deliberately co-create implementation processes & acknowledge everyone's role in generating & processing data." @ElvisTmel
