Yesterday, we wrapped up a two-day event that concluded with a powerful storytelling masterclass bringing together mid-career journalists and digital storytellers working at the intersection of climate, urban displacement, and gender.
Participants participated in thought-provoking discussions and interactive sessions on how to centre affected communities in their reporting, apply participatory storytelling methods, and reflect on the ethics of voice and representation. The masterclass also explored elevating local stories and connecting them to broader evidence and global narratives.
A special thank you to our facilitators: Dr. Sanaa Alimia, Associate Professor of Political Science at the Aga Khan University Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations (AKU-ISMC); Dr. Dennis Galava, Faculty Member at the Aga Khan University Graduate School of Media and Communications (AKU-GSMC); and Devyani Nighoskar, Storytelling and Communications Officer at Samuel Hall, for leading such insightful and inspiring sessions.

I would recommend all Kenyans read:
1. Commission on Inquiry on PEV
2. Ransley Report on Police Reforms
3. Kreigler Report on 2007 Elections
4. Ndungu Land Report
5. TJRC Report
You will see frightening patterns that are reemerging.
