This contentious interchange between the NY Times and @GinaHinojosaTX was truly amazing. Hinojosa offered one of the best explanations of populism I've ever seen. Her comments were a total rejection of Corporate Dems' neoliberal formula. Her Texas victory is a game changer.

@VerizonSupport I truly hate your new and not-improved forward and rewind options on the TV remote. It's anti-consumer, actually. It used to be that I could rewind only a few seconds to hear something I missed...

...but now you have these segmented increments where I have no choice but to rewind 30–40 seconds. This new method takes away my choice to rewind or go forward as much as I prefer. I no longer have a choice. That's why I say this is an anti-consumer move. Fix this.

I see that you haven't responded. Hmm. If you intend to keep this awful new approach to the remote, where you explicitly deny the user a choice on how to rewind or go forward as the user sees fit, you should offer two options: the new way and the old way. Yes? Anyone home?

The first five of the 10 Commandments are bullshit. Disrespecting the Christian God (or any god) or one's parents (if they haven't earned your respect) is not wrong, QED sin is just an invented disease to sell a snake oil cure.
Is it though? I find it fascinating how many atheists are obsessed with denying the reality of sin, me thinks the lady doth protest too much, don’t you?

AI had been the standard term since 1956. 'Superintelligence' had a very specific and powerful meaning when Nick Bostrom wrote about it in 2014 - an AI that vastly exceeds human cognitive abilities across all domains. Conflating these terms is very confusing, counterproductive, historically uninformed, and insulting to the hundreds of thousands of people who have worked on AI over the last 70 years.

This looks like a case of "Trump Derangement Syndrome" to me. Something I wrote and posted last year: lyonsnyc.medium.com/trump-de…
