Black pride grew out of a fight against oppression. White pride became a slogan used by people fighting to preserve racial dominance. History isn't complicated unless you're determined to ignore it.
How come black pride is a positive, resilient movement while white pride is widely associated with supremacy and hate?

Putin is committing crimes against humanity every day against innocent Ukrainians, including again tonight. Yet Trump and his team just don't seem to care. Instead, they talk about doing business deals with these terrorists. I hope American society still cares. Vote.

Pope Leo XIV: Someone who says 'I'm against abortion' but says 'I'm in favor of the death penalty' is not really pro-life. Someone who says that 'I'm against abortion but I'm in agreement with the inhuman treatment of immigrants who are in the United States,' I don't know if that's pro-life.

This afternoon in Marble Hill, a New Yorker was shot by an ICE agent in a residential neighborhood. Early reports indicate agents surrounded him and a 5-year-old child in his car before firing multiple rounds. We believe the child was physically unharmed. This is an unconscionable and incredibly serious situation. I have called the President; when we speak I will demand that he ends all ICE enforcement actions in our city. I will not stand by while ICE agents terrorize our communities. Our thoughts are with the injured New Yorker and his family tonight. We are praying for his recovery. Get ICE out of our neighborhoods. Get ICE out of our hospitals. Get ICE off our streets. Get ICE away from our children. Abolish ICE.

Bernie Sanders: “Elon Musk, the richest guy in the world, spent almost $300M to help elect Trump. Now he’s gonna spend $200M to try to keep Republican control over the House and the Senate and other Republican billionaires are coming in. Does anybody in their right mind think that is democracy? That is oligarchy and that is every reason in the world why you have to make sure that Republicans do not continue to control the House and the Senate”

Talarico is set to campaign this weekend after 8 days of a flu that landed him in urgent care, which we know because he did a virtual event on 9/30 where he appeared visibly ill. Perhaps this is actually a time to pray for Pratt, who's got Elon/Trump levels of Twitter brain-poison
My sources are telling me Talarico is in a mental health facility. His campaign has stopped actively planning events in the vital homestretch of the campaign. If this is true, this is actually a time to pray for Talarico. We should, of course, savagely mock his smug, awful campaign advisors, by all means...and while yes, of course, this would be disqualifying for Talarico's aspirations to be a Texas Senator, we must hold empathy for anyone undergoing crisis. Campaigns are brutal, and not everybody is cut out for it. You need very thick skin. As much as I don't want Talarico anywhere near government, I also don't want wish him harm, and no political office is worth having a breakdown. His awful advisors are at fault for this. They pushed him to be something he isn't, and it didn't work. I'm praying that this isn't true, and he's OK. You want to win these fights on the battlefield of ideas, not the minefield of poor health.

ICE shot someone else, this time in New York. For context, ICE is an out-of-control US paramilitary wing tasked with kidnapping people to keep corporate prisons filled so politicians can launder billions in profits back to themselves, while trafficking people across the planet.
ICE's expansion became a multibillion-dollar business: CoreCivic sold four facilities to DHS for $2.2B, GEO won major contracts, while Trump's investment accounts traded detention contractors and held stakes in firms benefiting from ICE spending.

Mamdani: There is no explanation for these tactics. There is no explanation for federal officers firing this many rounds into a car that has a five year old in the car. Look at how many people live right here. This is a residential neighborhood. We are right here by a subway.  And the pretext of ICE is, in their words, to keep this country safe. How is it keeping everyone safe to have, as you just heard from the police commissioner, individuals wearing construction vests in masks with long guns? Residents have no idea if these are law enforcement agents, or if they are simply attacking someone on the street. And when it comes to ICE, it begs the question, what's the difference? There is no explanation for this.
