大学の柔軟な勤務が育児分担の男女差を固定化し得ることが示された。研究者1万人超の国際調査で育児が女性に偏り、男性が自分の育児が少ない理由に相手の柔軟な勤務を挙げる例もあった。英国の女性研究者への調査では在宅勤務で仕事への熱意が低いと見られたとの声もあった。

1%程度しかいないとされる不法移民やトランスジェンダーなどのマイノリティが優遇される一方、一定の所得を越えてると何の支援もないどころか、税金や医療保険で貧困層に落ちかねない。この不安や不満を解消してきたのはトランプ政権だったんだけど、意識高い外野にはわからんだろうね。
アメリカ中間選挙で、民主党が上下両院を奪還する勝利。トランプ政権への拒否を突きつけた。米国史上初のオープンリーゲイの上院議員、黒人女性知事、ネイティブアメリカン女性知事、ムスリム上院議員なども続々と誕生。こうした点に注目すると「アイデンティティ政治」への批判が起こるが、でも人々が投票するのはその人のアイデンティティだけでなく、そこに紐づく「深刻な経済格差の是正」や「生活費の負担軽減」、または「平等」「平和」「法の支配」といった価値に対してではと思う。
トランスジェンダーや移民に責任転嫁し攻撃しても、生活の困難は何も解決しないこと、トランプ氏の暴走は市民の暮らしを良くしないばかりか、民主主義を後退させ、世界を不安定にさせるだけだと。本当に暴走を止められるかはこれからだけど、少なくともトランプ政権へのNOが示された結果に安堵。

Pretty wild that castration in older males extends lifespan more than in younger ones 🤯
We know that castration increases lifespan in multiple species, including humans, but I wouldn't have expected the benefits to be greater when performed later in life.
This latest study shows that, in mice, castration of middle-aged males produces strong and rapid survival benefits compared with castration in younger animals.
Further studies of castrated animals may reveal "castration mimetics" that reproduce the longevity benefits and may help us understand why testes are detrimental to longevity.

Obesity is the root disease for over 200 chronic diseases, it impacts more than 1 in 7 people on the planet and more options are needed. Science doing a good job here making the case for much more innovation in Obesity care. It’s still very early, yet we can see the impact that is possible.
