This discourse is wild because ao3 is down right now so ofc people who have amassed downloaded fics will share them to the public fandom. Ao3 can’t be accessed. How are you as a writer going to get recognition when the platform is down

Do the people throwing tantrums about fics being downloaded and shared realize that there not being 'reuploaded' anywhere, they remain on drives and in order for that user to have your fic downloaded theyd need to have visited it? And likely left kudos which is all they can do?

You have a full right to feel like this and there is a simple solution to it - do not post on AO3
I am not saying it ironically, jokingly etc.
Just do not use it, if you continue to do so then you can't really complain about function on the website you were aware of before
