@theresidency demo day. apparently i’ve been in bangalore long enough to have one of these now. pitched @KenesisLabs on october 22, at @residencyBLR founders track showcase, powered by Lightspeed India a few updates since the “got backed by the residency” post: >finished our pilot with SPP India >two LOIs signed >a third under review still plenty to figure out. but good to have more to talk about than what we’re planning to build. we’re building ai agents for factory floors. cameras already see what’s happening. we’re making them useful while something can still be done about it. the last few weeks have been factory follow-ups, building, and figuring out how to explain all of this in a few minutes on stage. turns out the last part needs its own preparation. met some really cool founders here. good conversations, a lot of laughs, and people i’m glad i got to spend these weeks with. thank you @AadityaYuvraj , @NimishaChanda , M S Mihir and @rishabsg17 for backing us and putting this together. @daniel_das07 , @dheekshithoff, Aswin. a lot behind what went on those slides. now back to getting this into more factories.

The one behind all stories!! 📸
There were two things I absolutely loved about working on @ximihoque’s journey video. 1. The ending: Please watch the video till the end to see how it ends. It’s a banger. 2. The entire conversation: I sat with Ximi for approx three hours to understand his story, and oh man, what a journey it has been! One of my favourite parts was understanding how Ximi truly represents his name. It was really nice to hear him talk about it, but what made the conversation even better was how it ended. We weren’t just talking about his journey anymore; we were talking about everything he had to share with the world. I had so much to ponder with him, from quantum entanglement to the possibility of proving ancient proverbs through science. And that’s what I love most about making these journey videos. Beyond documenting someone’s story, I get to spend hours listening, learning, and walking away with perspectives I might never have encountered otherwise. One thing Ximi said that will stay with me for a long time was this: If you keep working towards what you truly want, the universe will bring the right things to you at the right time. Not earlier, not later, but when the time is right. He spoke about how every action we take and every thought we entertain might create ripples that extend far beyond what we can see. He connected this idea to quantum entanglement, and it got me thinking. What if every thought that comes to us is an invitation to explore something? Maybe it’s a calling. Maybe it’s a possibility we haven’t considered yet. Who knows? Perhaps someone on the other side of the world is having the same thought at the very same moment. The thought may come to both of us, but what we choose to do with it is entirely our decision. And maybe that’s the beautiful part: we don’t get to control every thought, every opportunity, or the timing of everything that happens to us. But we do get to decide whether we act on what comes our way. Conversations like these remind me why I love doing what I do. Every story has something to teach you. Sometimes, you just have to sit down, listen, and stay curious long enough to find it. Can't wait to see how far you can go, just like you name @ximihoque! P.S. Watch the video till the end. Trust me, the ending is worth it. made for @residencyBLR

We back founders who are absurdly early take your shot
spc talks about taking founders from -1 to 0. when we applied, we were at minus 100 first form we ever filled as founders was SPCs. interview within a week, and that one conversation showed us exactly how far we had to go. minus 100 to minus 90, but that was enough to fix what actually mattered then @residencyBLR happened. 30 days in the founders cohort and the amount that changed wont fit in one post. from minus 100, weve come a long way good session tonight at @spc_india with @nandanreddy and @prateekmehta42 and thanks @rohanchdry for that first interview, it changed our trajectory

Darshit Vora, GP at @sparrowcapvc, has been in VC since 2014. he built Sparrow from a ₹4 crore fund to ₹475 crore, backing 40+ startups like @superhealth_ind, @gokwik and Apnamart along the way. one of the things we’ve always wanted for our founders is one-on-one time with partners of venture funds. yesterday, for week 5 at @residencyBLR, Darshit did exactly that. he sat with every founder, went through their decks, answered every question, helped whoever was stuck figure out their next step, and connected a few of them to people on the spot. easily one of the best sessions our founders have had. one founder asked how to pitch autonomous drones when the market in India barely exists yet. he said- don’t just build a story the investor has to buy. say what you actually believe. and be ready for “how will you crack that market?” he was v particular about the co-founder checklist. he said it's like marriage and you've to agree on- > what each of you needs to live on > what's your working style > building in public, or not > who’s CEO, and whether everyone’s okay with it > whether you can all go 2-3 years without a salary thank you Darshit, for giving every founder your time. looking forward to hosting you again :) p.s. applications for our next cohort are open, link in the comments.

this 20-year-old turned down a ₹28 lakh job offer from Blinkit to build whoop for dogs. 3 years later, here’s where it stands: > ₹16 lakh in grants received > 800 pet parent interviews > 97% accuracy in their first pilot > pitched on Shark Tank India > sold out their pre-orders right after the episode > finalists at Adani Vande Bharatam, where they pitched directly to Mr. Gautam Adani it all started when Sai's dog Muffin got tick fever at a boarding centre. now @Saiprasad1509 and @MananVyas1711 are building @MyPerro_, a smart collar that tracks your dog’s vitals, activity and location. the collar isn’t the endgame, though. they want to be pioneers in the pet technology industry and eventually operate as a data company specialising in dog insurance building out of @residencyBLR 🐾
