No one has done more to discredit the UN as Albanese. The US should withdraw all funding because the UN is a joke at best, terrorism supporters at worst

Mr Ro Khanna , you are a US citizen, focus on your own country. India does not take dictation on its internal affairs from any1. Hindu nationalism NEVER created suicide bombers or forced-conversion factories.
You joined the Pakistan House Caucus. That says everything abt you !

I have unequivocally condemned Hindu nationalism & applauded the students in the streets speaking out against corruption and for inclusion. My grandfather was part of Gandhi's independence movement and I believe in Gandhi and Nehru's vision of pluralism.

My ancestors carried their Hindu traditions from India to the Caribbean, preserving Diwali across generations. They didn't do that because they identified as "South Asian."
They did it because they were Hindu.
Celebrate Diwali all you want. But don't lecture Hindus about how we're allowed to describe our own festivals.
Diwali is a Hindu festival.

Mass marketed loan schemes weren't conjured up from nowhere, but were cloned from original bespoke arrangements designed by at least one of the Big 4 accountancy firms. Run by ex-Big 4 consultants with figleaf legal endorsements, in some cases with ex-HMRC officials advising.

This chimes with part of Ray McCann's observation that every aspect of the tax system had contributed to this mess. By which he meant both un/self-regulated Financial Services and HMRC inability to respond effectively, then belatedly coming down hard, but not on the perpetrators

It is observable that Govt departments have frequently been caught out and fined for once-ubiquitous resource hiring arrangements. HMRC's own hiring of contractors via suppliers with loan schemes was no anomaly, as #LoanCharge was already in force at the time.

The Free Speech Union was founded by Toby Young in 2020, two years after his own cancellation. In 2018, shortly after he was appointed to the board of the Office for Students on the strength of his work in education, the offence archaeologists launched a campaign against him. He was forced to resign from five posts, losing half his income and much of his reputation. He wished there had been an organisation he could turn to for help.
The FSU now has more than 50,000 members and has taken on more than 7,000 cases in six years. We receive between 40 and 70 new requests for help every week, and we have saved countless people from losing their jobs, their university places or their liberty simply for exercising their lawful right to free speech.
Often, the process is the punishment — we offer mental health support to our members who need it. The prospect of losing your job and livelihood over something you said can be extremely distressing. You can read the first report ever published on the mental health effects of cancellation by Carole Sherwood and Andrew MacLeod with a forward from Lord Young below.
It was in recognition of Toby’s work defending free speech that Kemi Badenoch nominated him for a peerage. That means the FSU can now do more than ever to protect free speech in Britain, at a time when it is under attack from all sides.
More than 60,000 people were arrested for “communications offences” between 2021 and 2025, a @BigBrotherWatch report found.
If the police turn up at your door and haul you into a cell for hours over something you’ve said online — as they did to Maxie Allen (@MaxieAllen) and Rosalind Levine — an FSU membership will be the best money you ever spend. We provided their lawyers, covered their legal fees and secured £20,000 in compensation and an admission of wrongful arrest from Hertfordshire Police.

She just needs to become an MP which pays nearly £100k pa with good perks and fiddles. Apparently also a part time job, which allows you to do other multiple jobs, making good use of your MP connections. For the rest of us, that would be very bad news

The Free Speech Union exposed that all five members of the Working Group tasked with drafting the official definition of Islamophobia had troubling links to Islamist organisations, including the Muslim Council of Britain and MEND.
The Working Group held a consultation so people could help shape what became the “anti-Muslim hostility” definition. Given the public interest, the FSU asked which groups and individuals had been consulted.
Shadow Justice Secretary Nick Timothy submitted a Freedom of Information request. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) replied that it had deleted all the responses — in what appears to be against the Government’s own data policy.
The FSU then threatened Angela Rayner’s department with legal action.
Now the department’s most senior civil servant says the responses do exist and remain on its data system, but the department will not disclose who was consulted.
So what is going on? Were we told the responses had been deleted to conceal the fact that Islamist extremists had the chance to influence the definition?
We are now told that an Islamophobia tsar will be announced imminently. Given Rayner and her department’s record, who on earth could it be?

The #loancharge debacle continues, Loan charge victims pursued for six-figure sums. After HMRC taxed the loans with the Loan Charge, claiming they weren't really loans, the parties that issued the loans are now trying to reclaim them.

Tesla has no government contracts and President Trump ended federal incentives for electric vehicles.
SpaceX contracts with the government are BOTH the best product AND the lowest price! Moreover government revenue will be less than 10% of SpaceX revenue this quarter and less then 5% a year from now.
Happy to cancel any that the government doesn’t want. Just say the word!

Great point. The context at the time is crucial, with @HMRCgovuk clearly uncertain on these matters. As you say, what chance would a layperson have to establish certainty? Many acted on professional advice from @CIOTNews or @ICAEW_Tax members.
