Most young people I know who were Trump supporters now are saying that they’re not political and don’t care about politics lol.

In the last few years it became a common right-wing culture war thing to start straight up lying about how much people in the trades make. The actual median salary is somewhere around 50-55k.
Replying to @Marlayna29
Most tradesmen in my area make between 100K and 200K. Those guys look like equipment operators,so, I'd guess 150 - 170.

This is a dog whistle. Same as when you see white people call themselves "Not political". You know what it mean lmao

They are mad she said this but the amount of women I see in FB mom groups trying to leave but can’t bc they are a stay at home mom or desperately need a job bc they keep having kids & their husband’s salary isn’t cutting it.
Think REAL hard before giving up your livelihood.

favorite part of the endless cruise was how no one was buying tickets for the upper tier so they slashed the price and created a perfectly self contained caste system where the early buyers treated the other guests like garbage
You’re on a boat, ostensibly for a while. Why

morality aside, the sort of 18 yo that would date a man old enough to be her father instead of one of her peers isnt likely to be very well adjusted, so i can’t sympathize with these guys having to deal with anything crazy because that seems like it shouldve been obvious

I don't think this is stupid by any means (and good qualifiers), but it's interesting that this is always framed as "daycare costs most of her salary" and not "it costs [whatever] from our shared bucket of money" with no mention of the other sacrifices borne entirely by her: retirement savings, social security contributions, advancement, the downsides of a big resume gap
Even if everything else goes great (no divorce or financial abuse), those factors should be discussed thoroughly!
I think if you are a married woman with kids who makes a modest salary and your husband is the clear breadwinner and you aren’t someone who is locked in to your career and would be cool staying at home and your husband doesn’t have the forethought to be like “daycare is gonna basically cost your entire salary anyway so just stay at home” he should be tarred and feathered

Your husbands aren’t saving enough to retire themselves with dignity let alone both of you. Keep working.

Daycare is not forever, and staying home during your prime career building years is a massive cost that is not easily, if ever, regained.

mothers will die on this hill and in the next breath complain that their childless female friends have stopped talking to them
Really hard for me to take the “anti-semitism is on the rise!” panic seriously when most of the complaints I see about “anti-semitism” in NYC amount to “I saw a keffiyeh and got scawed 🫣😭”
Absolutely disgusting.
A friend went to vote early today at Frank McCourt HS in Manhattan and sent me this photo of a poll worker wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh.
For 3 years, Jewish New Yorkers have been harassed by mobs wearing this terror symbol.
@BOENYC, any comment?
