Always loved how drifting feels in Forza Horizon, so I tried making something similar for the browser.
Haruna-inspired mountain roads and a Nissan Silvia S14 with a body kit
Easy to pick up, but getting those drifts right takes a bit of practice

A really simple but frenetic type experiment I made, inspired by the title design in Gaspar Noé’s films 🟥🟦⬛️

Playing around with Jev and vgpu, I ended up creating Ruchi, my mascot.
Ruchi is a WebGPU raymarched mascot built with vgpu. Thanks to Jev, it reads what you type in under 200 ms and shows the matching animation state. It also has a procedural voice made with Babble.

gave my cat a voice. he’s doing the promo for me.
babble's a tiny library for animal crossing-style voices. ~5.5kb gzipped, zero deps

Most cursor trails are just a blob pushing pixels around. This one swaps that for fully custom brush shapes, hatching, dots, whatever you write, using a data texture, a shader, and about ten lines of code.
@berto_bau walks through the whole build with Three.js, WebGPU, and TSL: tympanus.net/codrops/?p=1216…

No Blender. No Marmoset.
Just @threejs , your browser tab and a bunch of shaders.
- subsurface scattering
- refracting cornea
- peach fuzz
- f-stop depth of field
Huge shoutout to @Ten_24 whose free head scans are absurdly good and @_Nico_brc_ for the feedback and tips on how to push the realism

A huge part of how I landed at @basementstudio was @bruno_simon's course, and at @threejsconf the GOAT showcased our site as a memorable experience.
Life really comes full circle. Huge honor, but it also showed us how much room we still have to keep improving.
