There are two people in my consultation room. I only treat one of them.
And the other one are usually the one who remembers what I actually said, because patients hear the word cancer and the next ten minutes dissolve.That has been proven by many studies. It's what fear does to memory.
So: always bring someone. Not only for comfort, but also for recall. 2 pair of ears hear more than 1.
And if you're the one in the second chair, somebody should be asking how you are. Usually nobody does.

The first @APCCC_Lugano 2015 did not mention PSMA PET once!
CT plus bone scan were deemed sufficient to define metastatic disease (77% consensus for M0).
+11 years: the #APCCC26 report on high-risk localised and biochemically recurrent disease is out in @EUplatinum, with 67 questions referencing PSMA PET or next-generation imaging. I pulled those votes into a single wheel to highlight there are many areas of disagreement amongst the experts and much work to do!

Our atlas of young-onset CRC is finally out in @NatureMedicine! We found a unique biology in younger patients that may explain the aggressive nature of this disease. This was a monumental effort with colleagues at @MassGenBrigham and @broadinstitute. @DFarberYoungCRC
