Did the landowner demonstrate due diligence in finding a suitably experienced and qualified person to undertake the inspection? No. Ed is the classic ‘mate down the pub who knows a bit about trees’ that gives me conniptions. #TheArchers
They should have had an agreed system of assessing risk and therefore the urgency of recommended works, along with a rationale of why that work reduces the risk to an acceptable level.

ReW could be in trouble as they had a survey done by an unqualified agent. They can't use an act of god reason as a properly qualified inspector could have identified the risk.
Vinces legal team could easily show Ed's report is flawed. Huge compo award

As someone who has worked as a tree surgeon but not inspector I think both Ed and rewilding could be in trouble. What sort of report did Ed give rewilding. If official hes in trouble as the original inspection is flawed as he in not qualified.
