How will Sifuna add the much needed 10000MW to the national grid? By chanting the preamble and reciting the constitution?

Leo kwa matatu, I sat next to a Kalenjin lady with her kids. Her Swahili had a perfect Coast accent, and then I heard the children's names: pure Kalenjin. 😄 Kenya is so beautifully mixed. Where you're from, where you grew up, and what you're called don't always match anymore.🇰🇪

It's makes sense cos it can be deployed quickly and Kenya is running out of time to match electricity demands.
1200MW Dongo Kundu LNG plant to be on a floating barge. Interesting! Thought there's a sleeve of land reserved for that (dark green). Thought it strange that the MoT has recently been talking of 7 berths, not 4. Apparently, the space has been repurposed for a terminal, koso?

Folks who thing KenGen balance sheet is very large by perception only need to check this FY priority list. This is basically just enough to handle annual domestic power increase usage. For big capital power plants build we need big capital investors on least cost auction
KenGen's ambitious development portfolio also includes the proposed 42.5MW Seven Forks solar plant, the redevelopment of Gogo hydropower station, battery storage and the proposed raising of Masinga dam. #KenGenAGM2026 #GreenEnergyKE ^EM

KEPCO South Korea have always being the favourite to finance, build and Operate the 3000MW Siaya Nuclear Power Plant. They have already trained 53 Kenyan nuclear scientist for the last 14 years. If you want to know which plant look at their portfolio. Still don't think it will😂
South Korea 📍 Together with teams from NuPEA and KenGen, I held key consultative meetings with the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), led by Deputy President Mr. Park Yong-Kwon, to advance Kenya’s nuclear energy programme. KEPCO has already trained 53 Kenyan professionals at the KEPCO International Nuclear Graduate School (KINGS), building the exact technical capacity needed for our proposed nuclear power plant in Siaya County. This strategic partnership will directly benefit the people of Siaya by establishing reliable energy security to power homes and businesses, accelerating rapid industrialisation across the Lake Region, creating sustainable jobs for our youth, and driving long term economic growth across our county. We remain fully committed to delivering transformative development for Siaya. #Nyalore

There’s a massive difference between ignoring bots and blocking voters. If your political platform can't survive a simple "how will you be different?" question, the problem isn't the person asking.

KPA is already planning 20 years ahead with multiple Kenya ports as per it's masterplan. Not just Mombasa and Lamu. It projects cargo volumes X3 at 160 million ton. My prediction is achieving that in 10 years when all this port expansion projects get done by 2030.
The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA)PLC is accelerating plans to expand the ports of Mombasa and Lamu as annual cargo volumes are projected to increase from the current 45.45 million metric tonnes to 168 million metric tonnes by 2045. The ambitious growth places infrastructure development and innovative financing at the centre of efforts to strengthen Kenya’s position as a leading regional trade gateway. Speaking at the Port Management Association of Eastern and Southern Africa (PMAESA) Ports and Maritime Investment Forum and Exhibition 2026 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, KPA-PLC’s Manager Corporate Planning and Strategy, Mr. Mohammed Golicha, outlined the Authority’s key investment priorities on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer Capt. William Ruto. He highlighted a series of strategic projects aimed at expanding port capacity to meet growing demand from regional and international markets. The planned investments include the redevelopment of existing conventional and multipurpose cargo berths, the construction of additional container terminal berths at the Port of Mombasa, and the development of new berths at the Port of Lamu. These projects are expected to enhance cargo-handling capacity, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen regional connectivity, particularly through the Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia Transport (LAPSSET) Corridor. To finance these expansions, KPA-PLC identified Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) as a key mechanism for attracting private capital, technical expertise, and innovation. Other funding sources include government allocations, internally generated revenue, and commercial borrowing. The Authority noted that successful partnerships depend on the availability of bankable projects, transparent procurement processes, appropriate risk-sharing arrangements, and predictable regulatory frameworks that attract investors while safeguarding the public interest. In parallel with port infrastructure development, KPA-PLC underscored the importance of strengthening supporting transport and logistics networks, including roads, railways, pipelines, inland container depots, and digital systems. These complementary investments will be critical in facilitating efficient cargo evacuation, reducing logistical bottlenecks, and ensuring that increased port capacity translates into seamless movement of goods across regional supply chains. The priorities align with the broader regional agenda for port development which were articulated by the PMAESA Chairperson Board of Directors Mr. Mohammed Abdool. In his keynote address at the forum, Mr. Abdool underscored the importance of strong governance, infrastructure development, and regional cooperation in positioning ports as competitive trade gateways and drivers of sustainable economic growth. Mr. Abdool emphasized that efforts to mobilize investment must be accompanied by sound institutional governance, financial accountability, commercially viable projects, and transparent decision-making processes. He further identified digital transformation, green initiatives, and operational efficiency as essential pillars for building resilient, sustainable, and globally competitive ports. Beyond these institutional and operational priorities the Chairperson called for closer collaboration among port authorities to maximize opportunities presented by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). He noted that stronger linkages between maritime gateways, transport corridors, and inland markets are critical to facilitating cross-border trade, particularly for land-linked countries. “Ports cannot achieve their full potential in isolation. Sustainable investment must be matched by sound governance, efficient operations, and stronger regional cooperation to connect maritime gateways with inland markets, facilitate trade, and deliver lasting economic benefits across the region,” Mr. Abdool added. His remarks reflected the central focus of the ongoing three-day PMAESA Ports and Maritime Investment Forum and Exhibition 2026, under the theme, “Unlocking Sustainable Port and Maritime Investment for Regional Integration.” The forum has brought together port authorities, investors, development partners, and maritime experts to explore sustainable financing models and strategic partnerships that will advance port and maritime development across the region. Representing KPA-PLC at the forum is a delegation led by Mr. Paul Bor, Manager, ICDN Services, and comprising Ms. Miriam Mwakundia, Manager, Marketing and Customer Experience; Mr. Jones Buchere, Manager, Corporate Communication; Mr. Edward Wahome, Manager, ICT, Innovation and Business Process Re-engineering; among other senior managers.

You know what’s ironic about the people pretending to care about local football? They’re the very same people opposing the construction of football stadiums in the country. I mean, come on! How do you reconcile those two positions? 😂
