"There's a fundamental question about what politics is, and it's the study of who gets what, when, where, and how. ... What we're arguing is that the who gets policy is as much or more of a factor in how people formulate support or opposition to a whole range of policies than the what and the how." Verasight data was featured in a new story from @CNBC by Lora Kolodny and @_DanMangan: "Musk's PAC lawyer runs in Texas House district that is home to billionaire's business interests." In an April survey of 2,000 U.S. adults, Verasight found that 74% of Democrats have a somewhat or very unfavorable view toward Musk, compared to 53% of Independents and 17% of Republicans. Among Americans who identify as members of Trump's MAGA movement, 85% believe that Musk represents the movement. Verasight CEO Benjamin Leff commented on the findings: "In close races, candidates who are backed by or associated with Musk might face additional challenges in an already weak election cycle for Republicans." .@VoteHub partnered with Verasight to poll Texas’s midterm contests. Among likely voters, including those leaning toward a candidate, Greg Abbott received 48% support to Gina Hinojosa’s 46% in the governor’s race. In the Senate race, James Talarico led Ken Paxton 48% to 45%. On the generic ballot, Republicans led Democrats 48% to 45%. All three of these leads are within the survey’s margin of error.
