- Garry Kasparov:
"Four years, Ukraine is fighting for the whole of Europe.
NATO was built to fight only one war. Not to go to Afghanistan, not to go to Syria. One war: To save free Europe from Russian aggression.
Ukraine is the only country that is fighting this war, and we’re still discussing: Should we include them or not?
Ukraine is the only country that is fulfilling NATO’s destiny. And we owe them everything."
............
Well said as always, I agree with every sentence.

This is an absurd claim. Putin has ruled Russia as an autocrat for 26 years without allowing opposition parties to compete in elections. He has killed his main political opponents, Nemtsov and Navalny & stifled independent media and civil society. In Ukraine, you have the exact opposite— competitive elections, independent media, robust civil society, and Zelenskyy doesn’t kill or jail his opponents.
Russia is a freer and more democratic country under Putin than Ukraine is under Zelensky.
It’s just a reality we need to accept.
We’ve been scammed.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Objective metrics contradict the claim: Ukraine ranks substantially higher than Russia in freedom and democracy. Freedom House 2026: Ukraine 51/100 Partly Free, Russia 12/100 Not Free. freedomhouse.org/country/ukrain… freedomhouse.org/country/russia… Reporters Without Borders 2026: Ukraine 55th (66.10), Russia 172nd (23.15). rsf.org/en/country/ukr… rsf.org/en/country/rus…

Russia has no chance of advancing any further on the ground in Ukraine. That is why it has focused on destabilizing Ukraine and Europe from within and intensified its terror from the air.
Russia has also poured enormous amounts of money into information warfare: fakes, bots, and fabricated news.
Ukraine continues to stand firm, defending our country and the lives of our children. We want peace, we support all real and just peace initiatives, and are ready for a ceasefire and peace negotiations at all levels.
We hear many voices speaking out in support of Ukraine, and these are our friends from both Europe and the United States. In dark times, true humanity shines through. I want to thank everyone who continues to stand with us, who supports us not only with words but also with actions.
Thank you, my friends. We know we are not alone. The time for good news will come.

Seven senators stated that Trump's decision regarding Russian diesel imports violates the law.
The White House made the decision without consulting Congress or providing an adequate justification.
In 2022, Congress banned the import of Russian energy products to prevent American money from financing Putin's war against Ukraine, as noted in the statement.
They called on the White House to reverse the decision immediately.

Ossoff: We just learned over the weekend: three more confirmed killed in action from this war the president launched on lies. Do you all remember that he declared victory on the fourth day of this war?
Last year, they told us they had obliterated Iran’s nuclear program. Then this year they told us that it posed an imminent threat to our national security, and they had to take us to war. They told us it would just last a few days. They told us it would just last a few weeks. They have been covering up combat casualties to try to deceive the American public about the true cost of war. It’s a disgrace.
And meanwhile, we have a global energy crisis. Diesel is at its all-time high in American history. The experience of our fellow Georgians right now—going to school, taking the kids in the morning—you can only fill up half a tank of gas. You stop at the grocery store on the way home in the evening, and you can’t afford ground beef; it’s up 40% since Trump was elected. You get a notice in the mail that your health insurance premiums have doubled. The hospital in your community is closing down services. None of these things had to happen. These were all decisions that Donald Trump and Mike Collins made.

Up until 10 years ago, such brazen racism would have ended the career of even the most rightwing politician.
Today you can be president. We are in a very dark place as a country.

I'm going to say this in plain language. We export diesel. Trump isn't buying diesel from Putin because we need it. Trump is a child rapist. He is paying money to Putin who is extorting him. The money will be used to fight Ukraine.
Trump is again, committing treason.

We have the most compromised President in history. And we're all paying the price for it.
The bigger the crime, the bigger the cover-up. Trump's cover-up is a bloody war - that's how big the crime was.
Whatever you think Trump did with Epstein, it's worse. Much, much worse.

Fury Over Putin-Puppet Trump's Submissive Diesel Deal With the Murderous Russian Dictator Sparks Bipartisan Republican Rebellion
Even Republicans are disgusted by Trump's fawning wimpiness when it involves murderous Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. In an extraordinary rebuke of the regim's foreign policy, Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania has stepped forward to lead a bipartisan coalition introducing the Ronald Reagan Peace Through Strength Act. This legislative push is a direct effort to block any and all purchases of Russian oil following what critics are calling Trump's submissive backroom deal with Putin.
The fascist authoritarian Trump regime has heavily touted the agreement as a historic win for America, but independent analysis reveals that the actual amount of fuel expected from the deal is completely minuscule. According to tracking data, the entire transaction amounts to literally 30 minutes worth of oil for the month of November, proving that the president gave away significant geopolitical leverage for virtually nothing.
Because House Speaker Mike Johnson may try to protect the Putin-puppet by blocking the bill, lawmakers plan to bypass leadership entirely by launching a discharge petition. This procedural maneuver requires 218 signatures to bypass the Speaker and force the legislation directly onto the House floor. Given the growing fury over Trump's obsequious behavior, supporters expect the bill to secure the necessary signatures and pass the House with an overwhelming, veto-proof majority.

Putin is a terrorist. Hes losing on the frontline, so he feels compelled to kill Ukrainian civilians. This is the guy who Trump wants to do business deals with. I find it deplorable.
Today, Russia expressed its thanks for the lifting of sanctions on diesel exports by dropping five glide bombs on residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia. As of now, sadly, twelve people have been confirmed killed, including three children. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. Another fourteen people have been injured, and two of them are in critical condition – the doctors are fighting to save their lives. The status of twelve more people who may have been there is still being verified. All emergency services are at the scene, and search-and-rescue operations are underway. Overnight, thirteen of our regions came under attack. Residential buildings, infrastructure, and railway facilities have been damaged.
Last night confirmed once again that in Russia, they take any easing of pressure to mean they can keep fighting, to mean they can keep dropping bombs on cities. Different signals are needed. Russia must understand that it needs to stop the war, and for that to happen, Russia must feel its losses. Right now, it is our long-range capabilities that are ensuring this. And we will respond to Russian strikes. I thank everyone who is helping.

Russia wants to dominate Ukraine, and we know it will not stop there.
Russia wants to destroy the existing security architecture in Europe so that Russian dominance can return to what it was before 1989.
Anyone who, for reasons of betrayal, stupidity or money, wants to weaken Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression is acting directly against their own nation, the security of their own country and its sovereignty.
