For the record, this guy did his best. He was union president, invited me, was perfectly friendly and arguably brave. No actual genderist would debate me so his job was to put the case against me. Not his fault none of it makes sense…

Government minister responsible for the Conversion Practices Bill says “We are preventing a very specific, severe form of abuse.” No lawyer worth their salt would agree with that description of what the Bill does. There was a moment today when Jayne Ozanne was cheerfully outlining to Danny Beales MP which types of prayer she found ‘acceptable’ & which might need to be criminalised, and I think he had a flicker of a realisation of what is happening….
For Akua Reindorf KC and Baroness Falkner to reach this conclusion is shocking. Labour MPs need to take this seriously. The conversion bill is so poorly drafted it could be declared incompatible with basic human rights. That would be extraordinary for modern legislation.

1/ Akua Reindorf KC and former EHRC chair Baroness Falkner (ARKC & BF) have just, frankly, shredded the draft conversion bill with a particular focus on what a poor quality piece of law it is. Full report at the link, I'll summarise as best I can here: policyexchange.org.uk/wp-con…

Utterly maddening that the informed, articulate & intelligent people warning about the Conversion Practices bill are routinely smeared & dismissed. Meanwhile, dribbling pudding brains like Jayne Ozanne here… 🤦‍♀️
“Evidence of one prayer which nobody else witnesses, I don’t think you’d be able to prosecute. Still wrong. We have that… in the problem of rape sadly. A lot of women get raped, they can’t prove it and the CPS won’t prosecute. This is sadly very similar…” - Lead campaigner for a conversion practices ban, Jayne Ozanne, giving evidence on the Government’s draft Bill.

There are still open slave markets in modern day Islamic countries. Yazidi women were openly made into daily rape victims by Islamic slave traders. Talk about that.
A welcome step from the PM. The Transatlantic Slave Trade was one of history’s most heinous crimes. We must be honest about how the horrors of our past have shaped the present - because only then can we begin to build a fairer future for everyone. theguardian.com/world/2026/o…

A lot of us were very willing to have a debate without heat, @stonewalluk, and the reason that never happened wasn't because gender critical feminists didn't want one. While we were trying to get you to listen to our concerns, your former CEO was telling a BBC boss that gay people not wanting to include the opposite sex in their dating pool was 'sexual racism'. While we were pointing out the homophobia inherent in gender ideology, Stonewall ambassador Alex Drummond (a bearded, heterosexual man who'd had no surgery and taken no cross-sex hormones but liked wearing skirts), was going into schools to talk to students about his 'lesbian' identity. @BluskyeAllison, who actually is a lesbian, was subject to unlawful discrimination at her place of work for tweeting: ‘Stonewall recently hired Morgan Page, a male bodied person who ran workshops with the sole aim of coaching heterosexual men who identify as lesbians on how they can coerce young lesbians into having sex with them. Page called [it] “overcoming the cotton ceiling”.’ When the UK Supreme Court upheld women's right to single sex spaces, you issued a statement expressing your unhappiness about the ruling. In her report on your unhappy influence at the University of Essex, you were found by barrister @akuareindorf to have misrepresented the law as it related to women's rights: '[Stonewall have] stated the law as Stonewall would prefer it to be, rather than the law as it is’. In 2018, you publicly advised schools to shred a research pack saying there were risks to puberty blockers, in spite of the fact that you aren't a medical charity and that there was already credible evidence that puberty blockers are neither irreversible nor harm-free. Meanwhile you produced your own educational packs, recommending a children's book, for ages 5-9, in which the parent 'is neither a man, nor a woman – they’re non-binary.' In July 2022, Stonewall sent out a tweet that read ‘Research suggests that children as young as two recognise their trans identity'. @thetimes has reported how you've sought to control the language used by NHS trusts and government on their social-media accounts. Organisations would get points from you for replacing commonly understood words with ideologically approved terms, eg, 'birthing parent' instead of 'mother'. thetimes.com/uk/society/arti… In short, you took a maximalist position on gender identity ideology, which you attempted to enforce by diktat. You refused to acknowledge that you'd hitched your wagon to a cause that, unlike civil rights, gay rights or women's rights, sought to strip rights from others. You sought to curtail everyone's right to freedom of speech and belief by controlling what it was permissible to think and say, through the management and political class. You have argued against women's and girl's rights to their own spaces, their sports and to assemble without men. Your former CEO tried to shame gay women/men into dating the opposite sex if the latter claimed to be female/male. Your mantra was 'no debate' because, like all totalitarians, you preferred slogans, bullying and infiltration of powerful institutions to talking to opponents. You appear to have had no concern for the lowly people your ideology was harming: gender confused kids, female rape victims, female prisoners, regular people hounded and investigated at their places of work for refusing to accept the new mandates on sex and gender issued from on high. Your 'activism' has been a disaster for those trans-identified people who really do just want to get on with their lives in peace. You have besmirched the name of an organisation many of us were once proud to donate to, the charity that was partly responsible for securing the legal right of gay people to marry, which a lot of us thought would never happen in our lifetimes. The milquetoast words quoted below do not erase a decade of gender activism that has been disastrous not only for individuals but for society as a whole. There was once a debate to be had, but until you acknowledge the direct harm you've caused, it is no more possible to debate you than to persuade a person in the throes of a drug-induced psychosis that they are not, in fact, the reincarnated Christ.

This is just a complete insult to anyone born with a DSD. All conditions happen to either males or females. The conditions prove the sex binary. You’re lying about people with a medical condition to advocate for men with fetishists whose entire human rights fight is to get into women only spaces. It’s repulsive.

Under UK law, employers must now take all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. I think telling men that dressing up like a plastic sex doll is unprofessional and likely to be experienced as unwanted conduct of a sexual nature that creates an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating, or offensive environment for female colleagues and students is a reasonable step.
🚨 NEW: “His presentation made me uncomfortable, but I quickly understood that saying so would not be acceptable. Colleagues applauded and celebrated him. You couldn’t simply ask: what on earth is he doing?” A former Oxford postgraduate student writes for [Un]Captured about her experience of lecturer Matt Rattley - and why she feared speaking openly would damage her career. She wasn’t taught by him, but saw him around the college regularly. She explains why the culture surrounding him affected her too. Published anonymously, in her own words. Link to read below 👇

This from Dennis is particularly brilliant. He was asked a leading question about how much conversion therapy is out there, and he turned it incredibly effectively to the post-modern "conversion therapy" that is gender medicine. There is definitely a lot of "reparative therapy" out there - and it's done by the gender clinicians who put gay teenagers on the path to chemical and/or physical castration. The framing the question suggested was that this bill is addressing a serious, existing harm, albeit perhaps the bill needs some safeguards to stop overreach. Dennis moved back onto his own framing, showing that there is a genuine, serious problem with conversion therapy, but it's not where the panel committee think it is, and this bill will make it worse.
The Conversion Practices bill “makes it a crime to say to your teenaged daughter: I want you to love your body, I want you to grow up to be a happy lesbian. I DO NOT BELIEVE YOU ARE A MAN!” 💔 @Jebadoo2

I want you all to know this. There are 650 MPs in Parliament. Yet the one MP chosen by @UKLabour to Chair the Bill Committee for the controversial, dangerous and dismally bad draft legislation, the Conversion Practices Bill, is Alex Barros-Curtis. Until July 2024, when Alex was given a very safe Labour seat in Cardiff, he was the Head of the Labour Party's Governance and Legal Unit in London. This was a department set up to investigate complaints against members of the Labour Party. Complaints of antisemitism, Islamophobia, abuse, and of course latterly, mostly women holding legally-protected 'Gender Critical' (sex realist) beliefs. Alex oversaw the investigation of hundreds of members who liked or tweeted gender critical or feminist views. I was one of them. He investigated me, as a sitting Labour MP, for 13 months. 13 months to 'investigate' one like of one tweet. I had a great lawyer, one of the names we're all now familiar with, and I had to crowdfund to pay for his (excellent) work. They first tried in 2020. But the screenshots crudely attached to that passive aggressive, threatening-sounding email from LP admin staff were so risible that I replied that it was too ridiculous for me to waste my precious time on. They left it. Years of Starmer bumbling and stuttering through interviews about whether he had spoken to me, whether he supported me, etc followed. My feminist sins continued apace. And then I 'liked' a tweet by my GC comedian friend @Glinner. He had mocked Eddie'Suzy' for comparing his choice to wear traditional women's clothing, fake plastic breasts and nails, to those being persecuted by the Nazis during WWII. I found his sarcasm, as a award-winning comedy writer in the face of such offensive narcissism amusing and so 'liked' it. I found it absurd and obscene that Izzard, an extremely privileged and wealthy man, who openly changed his 'gender' at will, should write himself into history falseley as someone who would have been oppressed due to a circumstance beyond his control. We all know the groups who were tortured, starved and killed... There is obviously more to my story, I will tell it all, it's just one chapter of the years of spiteful abusive and bullying practices meted out to me by the Labour Party managers. Not those who'd achieved office on merit, or even unexpectedly, but those in the club, often having failed to be elected themselves. So Barros-Curtis who we were repeatedly told led 'the many *independent* inquiries into women members and MPs like me, now often stands as a trans-rights activist on the Labour backbenches. He has also been gifted the role of Chair of this Committee and is a huge supporter of this Bill. And I am not a part of the Bill Committee, although plenty of TRA MPs are. Does that sound like the democratic scrutiny of legislation to you?

Another meeting with expert psychotherapists, academics and experienced parents discussing the many potential harms of the terrible #CPBill #conversionbill. Some of us Parliamentarians have been steeped in this for several years, yet the Bill is being led through the House by those new MPs who had an agenda to push it as Labour Party activists and staffers. One drafted it, one is Chairing - and was the Head of Investigations against women like me. Women like me would have been blocked from joining the Bill Committee as a Labour MP, I have zero chance of getting near it and contributing now. Won't stop me finding other platforms to speak against it though, obviously...

This is how media distorts news: Look at the headlines. With Gaza @guardian lead with civilian deaths. On Jordan's strikes in Syria, no mention at all. Would you believe civilians, including women and children, were killed there too. Same story - completely different approach.
