WATCH: A group of NRM youths under their umbrella body, the NRM Revolutionary Network, has criticised last month’s decision by the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) to endorse incumbent Speaker of Parliament Anita Among and her deputy, Thomas Tayebwa, for another term. The group argues that the position of Speaker, like any other, should be subjected to an internal electoral process to identify the most suitable candidate.

Very unfortunate this country 🙌🙌
My heart breaks watching a mother cry and plead for help.
This is the same fight I had with the @nemaug (National Environment Management Authority). I strongly believe in protecting our natural resources, but justice cannot be selective. You cannot violently evict poor people from their land because they settled in a wetland while turning a blind eye to powerful corporations like Stabex destroying the very same ecosystems.
Environmental protection without fairness is cruelty. Conservation that punishes the poor while shielding the powerful is not justice. This woman has endured enough pain😥
Why not compensate her or return her land? Why must the poor continue to suffer while the rich keep benefiting? And why is she still being dragged to court, over and over again? Is it really fair that a mother must cry on camera, pleading for what is rightfully hers?

“You can’t deny Ugandans a chance to carry their country flag🇺🇬 because this is not China, who advises you people to attack such issues. Every Ugandan has a right on that flag, it disappoints even more when a police spokesperson comes out to threaten those that carry their national flag. You are just giving Bobiwine more relevance and what to talk about”

"Comrades, the change we seek will not come from guns or violence but from the will of pple who express themselves peacefully via polls. That's why those who fear the pple have perfected ways of stealing elections, sometimes, openly & other quietly"- @NUP_Ug presi @HEBobiwine

Dear Hon. @PNyamutoro, State Minister of Energy and Mineral Development,
I write to report a grave case. As homes fill with laughter and families gather to celebrate, Tushabe Getrude and her seven children are living in fear, with nowhere to go. 💔
She is a single mother who lost her only land to the @EACOP_ project. For over nine years, she has waited for the compensation she was promised yet to date, she has received nothing.
After losing her land, kind people took her in to help her survive. But today, even those who once helped her are chasing her away, unable to bear a burden that was never theirs to carry.
She was once shown another piece of land and told, “This is yours.” A promise that briefly restored hope. But when she tried to access it, the real owners chased her away, saying they had never been paid. That land, it seems, was only used to take photos while her children remain homeless and vulnerable. 💔
Today, Tushabe has no land, no house, and no safe place for her children. Each night comes with fear, each morning with unanswered questions. A mother forced to watch her children suffer because of broken promises and a failed system.
As many celebrate, she is being pushed away from everywhere, forgotten by a system that has taken everything from her.
