In the early days, I had friends who were initially committed to protections and understood the risks. Then I watched as one by one, they each chose irrational talking points to cement their ‘back-to-normal’ needs.
One more bizarre story this week for the Covid Twilight Zone. I have a longtime friend who I always thought of as my most grounded, logical and insightful one out of everyone. She lives 400+ miles away. So I’m always so excited to hear from her. She called this week and I was thrilled! Whenever I need to have an objective opinion about a decision, I have always reached out to her. We would share Covid information, me from a professional lens…and her from a community view. She was a teacher who had to retire after being hospitalized for Covid and developing Ocular Paralysis in 2021. Ocular Paralysis makes her unable to move her right eye. She has endured several surgeries over the past few years to regain movement. None of which have been successful. This week when I asked my friend if there were any changes in her condition, she stated that “If I had unmasked sooner my eye would have improved.” I asked “How can that be?” She stated that “EVERYONE has an eyeball stuck because they had problems seeing over their masks.” I said, “I still Mask and both of my eyeballs are still moving.” She said, “Well you don’t live in Michigan.” I asked her very slowly “Are you saying that Ocular Paralysis, a condition that originates from an INFECTION or disease state is somehow coming from Masks?” She said, “Yes, and being in lockdown where your eyes are inside the house all day.” The only thing that I could think was “Damn! YOU TOO!” The only thing I could do was sit down in the “off limits” living room, poured a glass of wine, lit a candle, and played some Camden Stewart. I’m beginning to think that No Interaction is the Best Interaction.

I am fundraising both because I have to and I think the work is important. Financially crushed, and can't even get an interview right now, so until I can find full time work I will keep fundraising, offering assistance and doing whatever I can to stay afloat while raising awareness and advocating for change. My vocal nature has put up hurdles to employment but I think if I keep pushing forward with positive goals, something is bound to give and the tide will turn. It’s been a rough few months, but we need awareness, and more voices not less. If you’d like to support my efforts and the work that I’m doing to help others, please do so, even a share goes a long way. gofund.me/185171594 PayPal: [email protected] DM for any Questions or Advocacy Assistance requests. @pearsonmarlys @solargyaru @lyallstodmorden @artemisbsg @konradross @ExpatRepeat @andreadona60 @greennomad61 @boyntonesque @dieJanki @katznm @alexcurran95 @kristanomonomon @donski1 @marianwert @justinegswaab @purplediscomove @nancy_sweetland @croquetknob @jackdanielle @ginrickeylime @nightsky56 @nyaarider @mostly_sleepy @lulu16belle @PacificGirl2021 @literaturminze @deerinthemoon @the_drummer71 @jen_sacks @mdcn2u @stillmask @fraeuleinsophie @kokkelivekkuli1 @tinamorsi @hiryu_g @jp30567 @ca_dnns @geekerella @LettersfromTim @cynthiaelise61 @pammcmil @AlisonAdam99 @booksyjojo @mrdphd @kstn27

🇬🇧 if you get Long COVID now and become so disabled you’re unable to work (and can prove it, and have <£6000 savings) then you’ll get £642.16 a month to live on, increasing to £660.47 a month from April 2027. Think on this before sniggering when you see someone wearing a 😷.

How about making all vaccines easier to access and COVID vaccines FREE for all … and also how about recommending them and explaining the science to citizens.
Respiratory virus season means busier hospitals, and we want to make sure they’re ready. Saturday, I joined Premier Danielle Smith, Minister Nathan Neudorf and Acute Care Alberta CEO Dr. Sayeh Zielke to share what we’re doing to prepare. Alberta now has a record high of more than 9,000 acute care spaces across the province, and we’re building on that capacity to help hospitals handle the extra demand. Along with preparing additional hospital spaces, our capacity task force is looking for ways to expand even further. We’re also helping patients move into care settings that better meet their needs and bringing physicians into emergency department waiting areas so patients can be assessed and treated sooner. These steps will help ease pressure on our hospitals, give health care teams the support they need and make sure Albertans can get the care they need, when they need it.

My cousin who I haven’t spoken to since around 2021/2022 after she became irate after I shared Covid information with her grandmother, posted that she lost her Mom, son, and uncle in 2020. She lost her step-sister, fiancé and who would have been in MIL in 2021. She lost her best friend, brother, and two of her friends from high school in 2022. (She is in her mid 40s). She lost her aunt, 2 cousins, a friend from work, and her manager in 2023. She lost two dogs that originally belong to one of her cousins that passed on her father’s side after only having them for a few weeks in 2024. The same year, her daughter who is now 11 years old, lost her best friend and her best friend’s Mom died. She also lost both of her remaining aunts. In 2025, her department combined with another department at work because what used to be 8 people was now down to 2. Three people died. Two went out on medical leave and didn’t return, and one went out on disability in December 2024. She stated that most of her weekends in 2026 has been driving her grandmother to funerals..and that her grandmother has outlived all 6 of her children….5 daughters including her mother, (one daughter died in Nov/Dec 2019 from “pneumonia”), and a son. THEN SHE SAID….. “I can’t even imagine Covid being as bad as the SUPER COLDS that they couldn’t shake. Knock on wood, none of us got Covid.” ….and for me…this is why distance is good to maintain sanity,

“Why am I the only one in my house getting sick?” Scrolling through and it’s the same story on repeat. Family has no symptoms. Nobody else even gets a sniffle. This has been Covid’s signature move for many since 2020. One person in the household absorbs the full symptomatic hit while everyone else stays untouched or asymptomatic. It never meant Covid is not contagious. It means some people have been taking the repeated damage for years while the rest of the house shrugs, moves on, and thinks nothing of it. This is why so many people are suffering alone on repeat again and again since 2020.

Do you know what follows every covid infection wave? An ACL rupture wave. I'm not saying that all ACL ruptures are caused by covid infections... just that a wave of them follows covid every time. Including this time.

You're going to hear a lot about REDs over the next couple of years. *lots* Yeah. Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs) sounds like long covid in athletes. Fatigue. Declining performance. Poor recovery. Immune dysfunction. Cardiovascular problems. REDs is real, but if an athlete's problems started after covid, perhaps investigate what the virus did before deciding they aren't eating enough.

A fellow Long Covid friend, is gone. Forever missed. His last post was about 5 weeks ago, calling for paramedics and asking us to wish him luck Now he’s gone. I’m so sick of watching this disease destroy people while nothing real is being done. Year 7. People are still dying. People are still disappearing. And the world acts as if nothing is happening. RIP friend. You deserved better than this.
Absolutely heartbreaking to hear this morning that my mate Gavin @Gavtaraysin has gained his wings 🪽🥲 G was such a lovely person who always showed me support and kindness. I will miss my our chats, banter. May he now rest in eternal peace ❤️

cops in france are taking masks off protester’s faces and confiscating the extra masks in their bags so they can better smother us with tear gas. tear gas metabolizes as cyanide in the body and is forbidden in wars. it’s a chemical weapon that can kill and disable you.

My coworker's mother passed away last November. She left her modest $190,000 house to him clear and free, no mortgage, completely paid off after thirty years of factory work. He moved into the home in January to finally settle the estate. Two weeks ago, a letter arrived from the state Medicaid estate recovery office. Because his mother spent four months in a rehabilitation facility before she passed, the state quietly slapped a retroactive $114,000 lien against the property title. He called the state health department, frantic, asking how a hospital stay could bankrupt an inherited home that had no mortgage balance. The caseworker sighed and told him: "Federal law requires state programs to claw back healthcare costs from deceased estates. The house cannot be sold or transferred until the balance is cleared in full." He offered to pay a monthly settlement. They said no. The full $114,000 is due in 60 days, or they foreclose on the property at a public auction. A lifetime of working-class savings, wiped out overnight by a retroactive healthcare lien. You don't own generational wealth. You're just holding a property title until the state finds a legal mechanism to repossess it the moment you die.

Ariane, Dr. Filiatrault is a retired emergency physician who, back in 2003, when confronted with a patient from East Asia with an unknown influenza like illness at a Vancouver hospital ER, her team and her chose the precautionary principle. They implemented airborne precautions, and the SARS outbreak was managed successfully in BC. Toronto made a huge mess by not using the precautionary principle, and as a result, had a much larger outbreak with over 400 cases in 2 locations, with a 10% mortality, and disability in the majority of survivors. Henry was one of the primary decision makers in the Toronto mess, along with other dishonest actors. To my knowledge, Dr. Filiatrault has never been a primary public health/infection control MD. Yet that ER TEAM, yes team, in 2003 chose the precautionary principle and airborne precautions and had the COURAGE to hold fast in the best interests of patient care and staff protection. @LyneFiliatraul2 @BarryHunt008 @crwequine

How wonderful would it be if people would finally connect the dots! Sadly though... "brain damage was forewarned by those in the know" and "delusion is comforting when the whole world agrees, but the dots still line up for those willing to see"... Lyrics in 2nd post.
