TOP 3: Horror Movies: This week, @ritchied, editor of "Deathbed: Horror Stories by Comedy Writers" joins @CWerthmann, @FrankConniff, and myself to debate the Top 3 Horror Films of All Time.
I'm watching Annie the musical for the first time in decades, and I can see why it used to disturb me when I was a kid. It feels like literally any character might murder any other character with a knife at any moment. John Huston was the man, but I think he didn't know family musicals don't necessarily have to be hostile.

Hey God, if you’re going to take wonderful actors and voice-over artists from us, would you mind throwing a bigoted totalitarian rapist into the mix every once in a while? What is your fucking problem?

44 years ago, this month in 1982, the film adaptation of my novel FIRST BLOOD debuted. I fondly recall the thrill of seeing it with an excited audience. It changed action movies, just as I had the goal of changing action novels.

Sorkin is swell and has gigs. I’m still working for Time Warner after a quarter century. You’re unemployed and if it was a Tijuana cathouse and you had a fistful of fifties, you still couldn’t get laid at TW or anywhere else over here. Not after that pratfall you did at CNN.
Replying to @AoDespair
Aaron was a class act. You.... not so much. Probably explains why The West Wing is so much better than The Wire.
Walter HIll? I'm there.
The great Walter Hill will be joining me in conversation at the Academy Museum on November 18th for a special Writer’s Branch presentation of 1972’s “THE GETAWAY” in glorious 35mm.

Happy anniversary to The Times They Are a-Changin', the truly cursed Bob Dylan Broadway musical that opened on this date in 2006 (and closed a couple weeks later). For "Like a Rolling Stone," they had the whole cast—wait for it—roll around on stones.

Joni really had the hardest job at The last Waltz, making sure Neil didn't fucking die every 5 minutes
He's not lying.
Bad Brains 🧠 fans who also ♥️ Jazz? RUN- Do Not WALK (euphemistically, don’t be daft) and buy Darryl Jennifer’s new album The Weather Channel! I’m listening to Sacred Love (I would ♥️maestro @RonCarterBass’s take on this track) Darryl on upright bass (!)
