Spoke at the ‘The Grand Strategy Forum’ of GLOCEPS on ‘Diplomatic negotiations, coalition-building and managing competing interests’.
Underscored that successful negotiations require understanding of core interests, patient listening and building on incremental gains.
Kenya is an important partner in this wider relationship.
Its strategic position along the Indian Ocean, regional economic connections and role in multilateral diplomacy create opportunities for cooperation that extend beyond our bilateral ties.

The Union Cabinet, under the leadership of PM @narendramodi, has approved:
✅ The Khelo India Sports Goods Manufacturing Scheme with an outlay of Rs 1,857 crore, to boost domestic sports equipment production, increase exports, generate employment and reduce import dependence.
✅ A 3% hike in Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief, benefiting over 1.17 crore Central government employees & pensioners.
✅ The Container Manufacturing Promotion Scheme with an outlay of Rs 10,000 crore, to expand domestic container manufacturing capacity nearly tenfold, boosting local production and reducing dependence on imports.
✅ The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Gram Swaraj Yojana with an outlay of Rs 7,395.55 crore to strengthen grassroots governance and enable more effective rural development planning.

Day 2 of ICGS Varaha’s Operational Turnaround at Mombasa focussed on professional engagements with Kenya Coast Guard Service personnel. A Maritime Search and Rescue tabletop exercise and training in Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) and Nuclear, Biological, Chemical and Damage Control (NBCD) focused on enhancing coordination, maritime law enforcement and safety at sea.
The ship also welcomed members of the local community and Indian diaspora onboard, strengthening bonds of friendship.
Sharing expertise and training together for safer seas and secure coastal communities—in keeping with India’s vision of #MAHASAGAR.

During the port call of #ICGS Varaha at Mombasa, Commanding Officer Comdt Ramanjeet Singh Rana, accompanied by the Defence Advisor, called on Mr Bruno Shioso, EBS, OGW, Director General, Kenya Coast Guard Service. Discussions focused on strengthening ICGS–KCGS cooperation through training and joint exercises.
Joined by the Assistant High Commissioner, they also called on Capt William Ruto, Managing Director, Kenya Ports Authority. Discussions covered port security, maritime safety, maritime connectivity and facilitating bilateral trade.

#ICGS Varaha of the @IndiaCoastGuard arrived at Mombasa today for a port call as part of her overseas deployment.
This marks the third visit of an Indian navy / coast guard ship to Mombasa this year, following visits of INS #Trikand and INS #Tarkash.
The frequent port calls by Indian ships to Kenya is symbolic of the growing bilateral maritime partnership as part of #BAHARI Joint vision and India’s #MAHASAGAR vision.
