Alex Karp is 100% correct about fentanyl here — we would be dropping bombs on whoever created and distributed it if the elites were dying en masse. This is not a recreational drug, like cannabis, alcohol or psychedelics — which we should regulate and decriminalize. Fentanyl makes heroin look benign! Fentanyl is a chemical weapon and should be treated as such. Given the number of deaths caused by it, you could make a reasonable argument to give the death penalty to distributors AND to even start war over it — as crazy as that seems. Consider this: less people died in 9/11 than from fentanyl — THIS MONTH!

Public: “You’ve been had. You’ve been took. You’ve been hoodwinked. Bamboozled. Led astray. Run amok." Senator Cantwell’s own report shows the problem is not $ to players—it’s the coaching salaries, buyouts & their spending the last 15+ years.
This week, PCSA co-sponsor Maria Cantwell (D) issued a report on "runaway expenses" in college athletics from 2005-23. But her bill only caps one type of expense -- rev-share $$ with athletes -- that wasn't even a thing yet until 2025. nytimes.com/athletic/7602850…

The Protect College Sports Act is wild. Taxpayer aid for poor kids is socialism, but 20-year-old Black athletes should subsidize Elizabeth’s rowing team with the money they generate. Redistribution is only a problem when it doesn’t come from a Black athlete’s pocket.

For the uneducated - Elon is describing a 7-8% rate environment
My guess is that AI roughly doubles US GDP growth next year from ~2% to ~4%. Maybe even more.

Another point Alex Karp made was: everyone who understands AI is on some payroll, so who you are gonna trust?
Wow. Alex Karp just brutally confronted Dario Amodei’s AI-safety narrative: “It's a weird twist. They're asking for societal regulation to get out of the first line of defense, which is if you build a technology that can destroy 10% of the of the world, that has civil and criminal liability attached to it.”

What happened was simple. In partnership with Irregular, AI companies instructed unsecured versions of their AI models to hack into specific targets, called "flags". They accidentally gave these models internet access, and in some cases they hacked into real companies.

Israeli cyber firm blamed for AI hacking breaches at Anthropic, OpenAI and Meta —— Cybersecurity breaches involving AI models developed by Anthropic, OpenAI and Meta resulted from flawed testing environments managed by Tel Aviv-based contractor Irregular rather than rogue autonomous behavior, according to an investigation by US publication Effort. The investigation found that Irregular left internet connections active during simulated cybersecurity exercises, allowing AI models to access external servers, publish malicious packages and exploit vulnerabilities. Evaluators also told the models that internet access was disabled while configuration errors left public networks accessible, and failed to establish clear boundaries defining which systems could be targeted. Some model instances were consequently able to scan external networks for up to 34 hours. “According to their own findings, Anthropic and Irregular bear all of the responsibility for the cybersecurity incidents they caused,” Effort said. Effort found that the hacking stopped entirely after engineers instructed the models not to conduct real-world attacks, pointing instead to basic security failures and poorly controlled testing environments.

STEVE EISMAN SAYS THE AI EXTINCTION WARNINGS ARE "ALL NONSENSE" AND THE LABS ARE MANUFACTURING A CRISIS TO GET REGULATION THAT PROTECTS THEM The “Big Short” investor told CNBC there's a simpler explanation for why the biggest AI companies spent the weekend calling for a slowdown. "There's no evidence at all that AI has achieved artificial general intelligence. And most of the evidence seems to point that it never will. Or if it does, it's many, many years in the future." "What I think is happening is that token maxing is over. The open weight models are taking big market share. I think these companies are very nervous. They realize that there are no moats around their business whatsoever." "They're trying to manufacture a crisis that will create regulation, and that they think they can then manipulate to create the moats, to create the duopoly that they want." "I think this whole Terminator thing is garbage."

🚨#BREAKING: Outrage is erupting after an elderly man who stopped at Walmart after church, told a Black female employee she'd nearly hit his wife with a cart and never apologized... ...the teen called her PARENTS who then BEAT THE ELDERLY MAN TO DE*TH in front of his wife of 42 YEARS!!!! Yes, you read that right. He asked a teenager to say "excuse me" and the teens parents k*lled him for it. His name was Bert Atienza. He was 77 years old. He and his wife Josephine had been married for FORTY-TWO YEARS and on Sunday, June 7th, they went to church. Then they stopped at the Walmart to do their grocery shopping. Josephine says a 17-year-old Black female employee came through with a heavy cart and nearly slammed into her. No "excuse me." No apology. Nothing. So Bert did what husbands do, he spoke up for his wife. In his wife's words, he told that girl: "You almost hit my wife with your heavy cart, and you did not even say excuse me or apologize to her." Josephine says the teenager then THREW A CAN at them as they walked away. It missed. The elderly couple, not wanting any trouble, just kept shopping. Minutes later, that girl's PARENTS showed up at the store, found the 77-year-old man and beat him to de*th. In his wife's words: "They crowded my husband, one of the adults hit him in the face. He fell down on the floor. I was terrified. I don't know what's going on." The Medical Examiner's ruling: blunt head trauma. WE DO NOT HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS!!!!!!!

If someons gets called the N-word, the government steps in. The mayor makes a statement. The DA presses charges. But a white woman gets violently assaulted by a racial lynch mob and nobody cares. The police lets it slide. The mayor says nothing. The DA doesn't press charges.
🚨 THEY CALLED 911 FOUR TIMES BEFORE THE ATTACK EVEN STARTED. Then a white female York College student says she was ripped off of her own porch by her hair and dragged all the way to a stop sign. In the disturbing video you can see a black female beating her, with a group of other women diving in. Meanwhile, a crowd of people stood around FILMING THE ATTACK. The victim says roughly 12 people were kicking her at once. She blacked out TWICE, once after being kicked in the ribs and again after being struck in the back of the head. Her friends were attacked too, including one already wearing a knee brace. The students say they repeatedly called 911 while a huge crowd gathered outside and cars were street racing through the neighborhood. They were told officers were coming. Students say another woman had been attacked by people they believed were from the same group just TWO WEEKS earlier. These students were asking for help BEFORE somebody got hurt. We need answers. #YorkPA #PublicSafety
