Cambodia built a Hanuman statue to claim a Hindu temple that was a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Thai military moved in to claim the same Hindu temple by demolishing the Cambodian built statue. Thailand then built another statue of Buddha (also an Indian) on the temple as a victory symbol.
At no point were any Indians involved, this was just a demonstration of how deeply Indian legacy exists in Southeast Asia.
