UPDATE: The National Jewish Advocacy Center has sent a letter demanding that organizers of an anti-Israel boycott bicycle ride targeting Jewish-owned businesses in Philadelphia โpreserve evidenceโ in anticipation of potential legal action, and warned that attorneys will be on site Sunday to document any criminal activity.
According to @MarkGoldfeder, the center also sent enforcement letters to Philadelphia District Attorney Lawrence Krasner, Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel and Pennsylvania Attorney General David Sunday, identifying potential offenses including harassment, assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and defiant trespass.
It asks police to activate body-worn cameras at each of the targeted businesses and requests that an assistant district attorney be available by phone during the event.
Obviously everyone is hoping for peace, a successful, fun, and well-attended food crawl supporting the Jewish-owned businesses, and that the "boycott ride" cyclists keep to themselves. But the last 3 years have been very instructive, so the lawyers are prepared.

Dear Jew-hating Philly "Boycott Ride" organizers:
If you don't like our small business owners, wait till you meet our lawyers.
Here is what @NJACLaw has already done in preparation for your antisemitic stunt:
1) Enforcement letters to the AG, DA, and Police Commissioner, reminding them which statutes apply, which specific crimes trigger it, and providing the proof of motive.
2) Preservation notices to each of you, explaining that litigation is anticipated and that deleting relevant evidence to prevent its use in court can lead to sanctions, including a jury instruction that the missing evidence was unfavorable to you.
3) Organized volunteers and lawyers on site so we have a litigation-grade record ready. No he-said/she-said disputes this time.
Play stupid games win stupid prizes. Game on.

Are you saying Bukele sat down with the gangs, told them he would lock them up for decades, put them on a super basic diet, make them sleep on bunk beds without mattresses, and they just agreed to it?

โBut Palestinians canโt move freely in Area C.โ
Meanwhile, Israelis entering Area A:
Areas B and C are an interesting point to raise, but saying Area A is under Israeli rule is like saying Lesotho is under South African rule.
And that there are consequences of the election on Gaza is irrelevant for whether Gaza should have voice in Israeli decisionmaking. All elections have impacts on countryโs neighbors.

Israelis speak Hebrew- a language we kept for more than 2000 years across the diaspora. In the meantime- the Irish barely speak Gaeilge. Nobody stopping them or forcing English today. They just dropping the ball on their own culture while fetishing Palestinians

I feel lucky to be Israeli.
Out of 14m Palestinians in the Middle East, Arab Israelis are the *only* ones that get a vote.
Palestinians in West Bank haven't voted since 2006, stuck under a 90 year old dictator.
Lebanese Palestinians don't even get the citizenship.
Jordanian Palestinians have a.........king.
You may not like this, but the best thing to happen to Palestinians is to live inside Israel.
Eat your heart out.
Wonder what the clown, @nasdaily is feeling right now after Zionists have shed their mask about what they actually feel about "Arab Israelis" ๐คก๐คก๐คก๐คก๐คก

Tell me you know nothing about Israeli politics without telling me.
It would be like a Marco Rubio- Bernie Sanders ticket.
If Gadi Eisenkot and the opposition bloc are remotely serious about getting rid of Netanyahu, and about Israelโs democratic future, theyโll do the obvious, strategic, and non-racist thing of forming a government with the Arab parties.
A Jewish-Arab political partnership is necessary to meet this political moment, and for any shared future.

Is German democracy "hollow" because the AfD isn't in a governing coalition? Or does this only apply to Israel?

Wrong again @pass_blue. Under the 1947 UN Headquarters Agreement the headquarters district in NYC is in fact still US territory and US law applies there unless specified otherwise.
You should actually read the agreement. I did.
Mike Waltz, US envoy to UN, is confused as he shouts at Cuban diplomats, saying: "This is America!" but the UN is international territory: UN 101
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The UN headquarters district remains US territory under the 1947 Headquarters Agreement, where federal, state and local US law applies except as otherwise provided; the agreement grants inviolability but does not transfer sovereignty to the UN.

They rejected citizenship when offered back in 1967, and thus were given permanent residency status instead. They vote in PA elections (when actually held), and are eligible to apply for Israeli citizenship at any time.

We cannot talk about rehabilitation as if all crimes are the same. Car theft โฆrobbery ..fraud are not in the same category as violent rape and murder particularly of minors. Iโd argue that for those crimes thereโs no such thing as ยซย heโs done his time ..so heโs like the rest of usย ยป. He does not deserve the same opportunities as the rest of us who raise and protect our families , pay taxes , and contribute to society . Judging by the comments , the only good violence , is the violent agreement 99% of us seem to be in on this issue.
Ewert raped and murdered a 19 year old and then raped and tried to murder a 15 year old, leaving her paralyzed and blind.
Ewert should never have been released from jail while breathing, never mind released into an environment where young women are everywhere. Thankfully, heโs been taken back into custody on suspicion of breaching his release conditions and/or being a safety risk.
Also, a 63 year old rapist/murderer who will NEVER practice law in any capacity doesnโt deserve to take spots away from young, hard working people trying to get into law school.
He can clean toilets in hell.

How does submitting to international arbitration make Egypt good at law?
The analysis was done by somebody other than Egypt.

People who make this argument seem to think this is a carte blanche for violence. Its not. International law in such circumstances allows the "occupying force" to do quite a lot to prevent and prosecute such "armed struggle". The law doesnt say just let yourself be killed.

For people in the comments who don't understand the current dynamics of journalism. I broke the story of Ewert's return to jail on Friday-a full day before CBC confirmed that he was back in jail.
My posts alone about Ewert across social media platforms had over 875,000 views. As one indie reporter. It's 2026-independent journalists ARE the news.
There is still some confusion in the comments about why a geriatric violent offender was admitted into McGill Law School and whether or not Ewert had served his time.
Ewert is serving a life sentence. He was sentenced back when Canada still operated under the rule of law.
Ewert was, therefore, only released on day parole due to an activist judge who overturned the parole board's ruling that he was too dangerous to release. The parole board did their job in attempting to keep him in jail. A liberal-appointed activist judge overturned their decision, citing Gladue in her ruling.
Due to many parole condition violations, her idiotic decision to grant him parole has now been suspended, at least for the time-being. To my knowledge, he can still appeal again in the future.
Criminal background checks are not typically part of Canadian universitiesโ admissions processes. It's unclear at what point McGill knew Ewert was a violent convicted criminal because they cite privacy concerns as to why they won't offer a fulsome accounting of what happened.
However, Ewert's lawyer Nora Demnati had stated that McGill was, "Fully aware of his history and his status." His lawyer elaborated that his going to law school was a well-established plan that was discussed with relevant parties as part of his rehabilitation plan.
Students were not informed of his record by the university (again, privacy constraints were cited.) Some of the students responded with a petition to have him reinstated in class. Other students responded with a petition against his return to class.
Background checks are typical for regulated professions. The law society has a "good character" requirement for licensing, but regulatory regimes are ideologically-captured, so it's impossible to know whether or not the law society would have excluded him or welcomed the opportunity for "Restorative justice."
I am highly sceptical as to what Ewert's LSAT scores and pre-university grades were like. Law school is highly competitive and giving a place to an undeserving convicted violent criminal who would already be passed retirement age once he began to practise (if he even finished and passed the bar), means that a young, deserving person missed out on a lifetime opportunity.
It is, of course, absolutely ridiculous and wrong that the Canadian taxpayer, who subsidizes tuition costs for law students, would have to contribute even one red cent to the educational costs of a geriatric who is a convicted child rapist and torturer, as well as a convicted killer.
But this is where we are at in Canada, thanks to ideological capture of our institutions and no political will to overturn previous terrible decisions by the Liberals.
โ ๏ธ Breaking News โ ๏ธ
It has been reported to me that Jeffrey George Ewert is back in jail.
In 1984, Ewert sexually assaulted and strangled one woman to death, and weeks later severely beat and choked a 15-year-old girl who rejected his advances. The girl survived but was left permanently brain-damaged, blind, and quadriplegic.
The Parole Board of Canada refused Ewert day parole, concluding he still posed an undue risk.
But activist judge Justice Jocelyne Gagnรฉ overturned the Parole Board on the basis of Gladue. R. V. Gladue is part of a two-tier legal framework in Canada which holds indigenous offenders to a lower standard.
Evert was thereafter released on parole and inexplicably began law classes and attending faculty events at McGill in August 2026.
Students were not informed of his history. Clinical assessments rated his risk of violent sexual reoffending as moderate to high.
In early October, McGill barred him from campus while reviewing the safety situation. In response, some students started a petition to permit Ewert to return to class.
I screen recorded Ewert's Facebook page before he locked it down. The video of his activities, including a female classmate's interactions with him, are detailed in the video. Sound on for narration.
It's undetermined whether Ewert was returned to jail because of what appear to be blatant parole condition violations on his social media account, or for another reason.
But, for now at least, young women at McGill and in Montrรฉal are safe from this convicted predator.

Years ago, Jeffrey George Ewert raped and killed a young woman and beat a girl into a paralyzed, vegetative state. Now he's trying to pursue the privilege of a legal education at McGill, in proximity to the many young women who attend campus. It should be out of the question.
Instead of calling out the hazard, the law students' association accused the university of not providing adequate support to a formerly incarcerated student and asked for a "circle discussion led by an Elder" to help students process "recent events." A student-alumni petition urges that Ewert return to campus.
Everyone here seems to be forgetting that a key part of preserving the legitimacy of our justice institutions involves keeping out society's worst criminals (such as rapists and murderers).
