We don’t talk about this enough. If we reach a point where art, music & literature are made solely by machines, there will never again be a Dante, a Beatles. No Tolkiens or Van Goghs. We will look back in disbelief at a time when humans did amazing things. Never again.
IMO there are no benefits of AI that can compensate for the loss of human intellectual greatness it is bringing about.

The problem isn’t AI necessarily. AI doesn’t sound better than say Whitney Houston or Maria Callas. I’d venture to say it never will. But that’s also the problem because the younger generations will be prepared to accept the limitations the AI sets for them, for their life and therefore neglect to attempt to discover what is unlimited within themselves. There will be a dependency created on AI before they even explore their own creativity or develop their own neurotransmitters. There will be a dependence via UBI, it will all be a different world where only the current top tier tech oligarchs and their descendants will have freedom.
Resistance is only resistance if it has something to push against. At last the artist, the writer, the poet, has a nemesis that awaits the pinnacle of human form, an abomination against soul. The will against optimization. The tech bro against humanity. God's creation against man's creation.
Rejoice for the first time art has transcended into war and war, which it does not break it crowns.
