Insights from training on Monsoon: More data continues to improve performance, even at 3,500 hours.
We trained the same model using the same recipe on randomly sampled 1,000, 2,000, and ~3,500-hour subsets of Monsoon across Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
Increasing training data from 1,000 to 3,500 hours reduced errors by:
โขโ โ 11โ14% on IndicVoices (unseen conversations)
โขโ โ 21โ25% on Vistaar
The gains diminish with each additional hour of data, but none of the six learning curves has flattened yet.
The takeaway: We havenโt hit the data ceiling for these languages. More high-quality conversational data continues to deliver meaningful improvements.
Monsoon is Voice Arenaโs ASR training corpus, built to help bring word error rates down to single digits across 1,000 languages. It is available for licensing today in 50 languages.

Every silicon company ships a reference design and a BSP. But almost none know how long a customer actually takes to ship a product.
Looking back at SEMICON India this week, design in time was all people cared about.
When eval kits go out, there is a long, quiet stretch. Teams are forced to write firmware by hand against new SDKs and unread datasheets.
The cost of that stretch lands entirely on Field Application Engineers (FAEs).
They find out why customers stall. Itโs almost never the silicon, it's a peripheral configured wrong, or a power sequence buried in an app note. FAEs solve it one customer at a time. The next customer hits the same wall, and the cycle repeats.
That massive, quiet stretch is where FirmGen sits.
It captures the hardware context first: pin
assignments, addresses, power constraints then generates firmware against that specific silicon revision.
The industry theme this year is "silicon to systems."
The middle of that phrase is still done by hand.

SaaS platform @superfoneapp has raised $1.9 Mn (INR 15 Cr) in its pre-Series A funding round led by YourNest Venture Capital.๐
In a statement, Superfone said that the funding will be utilised to acquire national-level telecom licences. A part of the fresh proceeds will also be utilised to strengthen its engineering and product teams with key senior hires, scale up its customer acquisition efforts and shore up its tech stack.
Founded in 2021 by Pradeep Dodle and Nikhil Goenka, Superfone has built a proprietary telecom platform, catering to small businesses, that integrates communication, customer relationship management (CRM) and marketing tools. It claims to replace traditional SIM cards with a fully app-based solution that integrates tools such as lead management, WhatsApp marketing, and AI-powered agents.
