This is fundamentally corrosive. No matter your politics, you cannot possibly think it is good to have 20 people with this degree of influence over public matters.
Just 20 donors have put in $2 billion into the midterms, per a comprehensive New York Times analysis.

The Republican campaign against El-Sayed is the most openly racist campaign in the country by a long shot.

It's also pretty clear that Stevens' demands were never on the level, and Abdul made the right choice in refusing to play her game -- despite what some pundits on here and cable have been saying.

I hope folks will think about the fact that @HaleyforMI demanded that @AbdulElSayed denounce as antisemitic an ad he was not associated with, but is now endorsing a man who called Abdul a terrorist. She is fine with bigotry and racism as long as its against the right people.
El-Sayed: I have a sense that you all are here today because of the decisions of somebody who's not here right now. I'm just going to tell you, this is a state of 10 million people who deserve a lot better from their government. I'm a lot more focused on the 9,999,998 that are not the ones you guys are talking about
I'm not in the business of driving clicks for you. I'm in the business of trying to solve problems for the people of my state

Reminder, this is who was endorsed by:
- Gretchen Whitmer
- Nancy Pelosi
- Jim Clyburn
- Chuck Schumer
- and many more
These are the leaders of the Democratic Party y’all.
If you don’t live in Michigan you probably don’t know that the GOP is running probably the most openly racist campaign against El-Sayed. Literally I see 10+ ads a day that can all be summed up as “Well just look at him, he’s brown and Muslim”.

My final pitch for voting for a Democratic Senator:
Thomas is 78. Alito is 76. If we get to 51 Senators, it blocks them from resigning. Then they're in their 80s by 2030.
Every Senator elected gives us a chance to save the nation. I don't care if you like them or not.

The NYT is so desperate to find an October surprise they bury the lede:
1) The staffer retracted her statement.
2) The staffer was a fired disgruntled employee.
3) They stuff this line in the article:
"Ballot-stacking tactics are common in politics and generally considered legal — and have been employed by both parties in Alaska."
SCOOP: Democrats have insisted they have nothing to do with the other Dan Sullivan on Alaska's Senate ballot.
But aides with the Mary Peltola campaign and DSCC were part of a monthslong secret plan to recruit him to run -- as well as other candidates.

Mike Rogers is running the most racist campaign in the country and will be a vote to fund Trump’s internment camps.
Supporting him in the name of concerns about bigotry is ludicrous.
.@Timodc: "I could not be happier to endorse Abdul El-Sayed over the human trash that is Mike Rogers."

There are millions of Americans who now believe that if a Republican candidate loses that means the election was rigged. I've talked to these people. Trump has done more damage to the trust in elections and democracy than anybody else in our 250 years and it's not close.

This whole Bolsonaro thing is crazy because international fugitives used to pick Russia to run from accountability. Now, they pick America. They feel safe here. Disgusting. We need to deport every one of these thugs Trump lets in.

I swear to god if I hear another person on this app talk about the mainstream media while mainlining the disinfo slop on here all day, I’m going to lose my mind

The Executive Branch has no authority to regulate states’ election decisions as to candidate qualifications, and the choice to file a lawsuit like this just days before an election speaks volumes about the political corruption festering at the top levels of the DOJ.
